Even Helen Keller would say there's some shillin' goin' on there.............

But wait....what's the sellers rep like? Is he a great guy, loved by all who overpay? Does he love children and puppies? Best of all, does he EXPECT to get above market value for his auctions, and deserve it, *********!?

Inquiring minds want to know...
Who said "above market value"? Don't twist statements to fit your agenda.

Didn't twist anything, dragqu..."dragsy"....I mean "dragsy"...and I'm agenda-free.

The poster I responded to referenced "above market price", I mentioned above market value, same thing, Lite.

It matters what the card is worth because when you're selling a lot of big ticket items to risk your reputation on a $15 card is absolutely preposterous. BBCE does a lot of big ticket items including many via BIN. And when your reputation is good and you do volume like they do, you can expect to get prices you want to get as well.

"expect to get prices you want to get as well".

I don't know, "dragsy", but when I was running a lot of auctions, I always HOPED to get market value, or above, for my auctions...but I didn't EXPECT it, seeing as how auctions are notoriously fickle with ending prices that can be wholly random...unless juiced, that is.

Now, I don't have the sterling rep BBCE does or this decade's version of the Mean Street Posse defending me on a card forum as he does...woe is me, guess I'll have to make due with getting less for my cards.

BTW, noticed none of you MSP V2 responded to my bigboyd comparison....hit too close to home on that one for your taste?

Honestly, I have no idea at all what you're getting at. If I'm bidding on something from a seller I've dealt with before and had nothing but good dealings I'm willing to comfortably bid fair market value and perhaps a bit more, especially if I'm going to get multiple items from that seller in the same purchase. The convenience of one stop shopping plus the saved shipping makes it worth it. Plus I know the goods are going to be good quality. And not sure what you're trying to accomplish with the "dragsy" use over and over, but it's not working since I ain't getting it.

Reputation means a lot. It doesn't make people innocent of anything, but it will increase sales in the absence of other forces. The MSP V2 as you put it is simply saying that a seller like BBCE whom has done nothing to hurt their reputation in over a decade of sales definitely deserves the benefit of the doubt. As for bigboyd, I've had all good experiences there too, but I've dealt with Steve Hart many more times and can easily say he's the best internet seller I've dealt with.

I'm actually thankful for threads like this. They.are very telling about who to deal with and who to avoid on FCB!

The Billy Williams card for sale through PWCC could possibly be shilled. Since most of PWCC items are consignment it's highly possible that the owner of the card is selling many items through this consigner then bidding them up to protect his cards and get a better price.

And it could also be PWCC bidding them up to meet some ideal they may have promised their customers.

Can't say I think these threads are a good idea especially when people's user IDs are being tossed around based on speculation and guessing. I've seen lots of crazy things over the years on eBay that might look odd but are legit.

Tell us how you really feel, Billy.

Sure. I think there is a little to much conspiracy theory and finger pointing, in general, on FCB, and it seems to be the same people most of the time, always trying to find the negative in every little thing that happens. Is life really that miserable for people that this is what they find pleasurable?

I said it is telling about who to deal with because there are some folks that seem like you'd just be setting yourself up for a problem with simply by dealing with them. God for bid something really did go wrong, like a card gets lost or damaged in transit. You'd be publicly crucified by them. That's the feeling I get when I read some of this stuff and the comments people make. It's not just this thread either and certainly not a blanket statement about the posters in this thread specifically.

In addition, BBCE has been in business for many, many years and you don't stay in business that long in this field without being a well respected businessman, who takes care of his customers and earns their trust and you are all here trying to torch a guy who moves probably in the neighborhood of a million dollars in product a year over a $20 card. If the sheer ridiculousness of this doesn't strike you at all, then I truly don't want to deal with you.

That is all I meant. And, yes, I realize even good people can make wrong decisions. You and I are no exceptions. So let's not all act like we are angels.

Absolutely could be the case. In my opinion the more likely scenario is the owner is shilling, if that is occurring. That takes the responsibility off PWCC and the owner still gets his price.

Well in Eddie's defense, I've never heard the man XXXXX about much of anything. Dude feels he had someone try to pull the rug out from under him and he got a little ticked. I think he's well within his rights. I think the fact that shilling exists is what pisses most of us off to begin with. It's just a plain pain in the ass.
