Did Topps do this, or did the seller?

So we all know of that Gehrig bat knob that had patches that clearly weren't from Gehrig's jersey. So was it Topps that put in the auto, or was it the seller who redid the card?

Topps, the original card had 2 cool base patches obviously not from Gehrig.

I know, but the same seller had it, probably he sent the card back to Topps and they did that, which is really nice of them, but I thought maybe there was a chance he got it redone himself if Topps wasn't willing to do anything

It appears that Topps did not add an autograph certification to the card (unless they changed the non-pictured outside of the booklet, or the seller forgot to note that the autograph is accompanied by a separate cert.).

Agreed, glad this 'mystery' was solved. Will Topps correct 'all' fake/suspect jersey pieces with an auto now?
