Hey guys,

I guess I've been very slow in joining up. I was a member of the old beckett forums and knew much of you here. I used to collect Ryan Zimmerman and had a bunch of good stuff from him so maybe that helps people remember who I am? haha I haven't been collecting cards over the past year as much as I've been focusing on collecting factory sealed video games primarily vintage Mario games I've recently getting the bite from this again as the new 09 Ultimate baseball has pulled me back!

Hey Jason, you had the same user name on Beckett, didn't you? I totally remember you. welcome aboard, those 09 ultimates sure are some nice cards. Im sure they are dragging a bunch of people back into the hobby. Great sets like this only come around once and awhile.

Hi all! I recently joined but have been avidly visiting this site for a few months since Wax Heaven went on hiatus and I went in search of my hobby fix.

I began collecting with my father as a kid in the mid 80s. It was a great bonding experience and it educated me on the game quite a bit. I stopped collecting after high school altogether but my love for sports only grew. I really got into the deeper side of baseball stats (Fangraphs anyone?) over the past few years which rekindled my interest in collecting.

I used to be a Griffey collector and still maintain a modest PC of him but now I focus on prospecting. Growing up I was always a fan of the younger guys and collecting their rookie cards were important to me. A few years ago I witnessed Justin Upton for the first time I felt I needed to have his nicest rookie. Now I collect prospects I feel (through the educated guess approach and digesting dozens of top prospect list) have the skillset to be stars. I enjoy the amount of prospect talk on this boards and personal lists are great (thanks, jaypers). Bowman Chrome and their refractors are definitely my favorite brand and I maintain a modest collection of autographed prospects and various fun Mariners stuff for my PC.

This site is a fun place to visit with all the nice pulls, box breaks, rare PCs, and interesting hobby insight from the members. I love collecting cards and it still reminds me of great times with my old man. I look forward to being a part of the community and will try to make some thoughtful posts.

Have participated in multiple boards and wiill usually lurk and occasionally post (at least until irrationality starts crowding out intelligent discussion or mob mentality takes hold).

This place seems great so far. A bit baseball heavy, but that's not necessarily a negative! =)

Just joined recently and am now getting around to posting. Just got back into collecting about 3 months ago after being away for more than 15 years. Live and work in the Chicago area and am originally from Iowa. Cubs, Red Sox and Iowa Hawkeyes Fan. Currently working on a master set of 2009 T206. Sounds daunting, but I figured it would be fun to pursue. We will see how far I get before I move on to something else.
