Hey everyone. Just wanted to say hi - I collect mostly Vintage and Phillies - got my daughter into collecting Chase Utley - she's got over 400 cards of him alone, so she is one happy daughter (and I am one poor dad from it too)

Posted in the introductions section, just noticed this thread guess I should have posted on here.. Anyways I'll try to keep it short, former collector getting back into the game! I'm still considering what to collect...used to collect mainly baseball and hockey...which was mostly star RCs and what autos/gu items I can obtain. Nowadays cards are just absoultely beautiful yet an over production of certain star Autos/Rcs/ect.. Guess it does make it so everyone can get a star auto,rc auto for a fair price. Since I used to collect rookie cards I'm leaning towards starting back into that as searching on here and Ebay theres a HUGE supply/Demand for RC Autos. And boy do most of them look great!

Heres the thread I made if anyones interested... Glad to be apart of this site, first time on an online forum and only after a day I really enjoy it. Just joined a contest for a free box of UD Golf, insane! Very generous of FCB I must say. Goodluck to everyone who has entered and if you haven't yet better hurry up!!!

Good morning from Syracuse, NY! I just joined FCB after many months of reading many interesting posts over the past year or so. I've been collecting cards since age 3 in 1985, and got really bitten by the autograph bug around 1999. I'm a big fan of Syracuse Orange hoops and football, as well as the Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Seahawks, and Syracuse Chiefs and Crunch.

I mainly collect:
-inexpensive cert auto cards of guys I don't yet have, in almost any sport (esp. baseball and basketball)
-working on signed 1985 Fleer, 1999 Best Baseball America, and 2011 Heritage Minors sets
-auto'd 8x10 photos (especially baseball, basketball, NASCAR, and monster trucks)
-autos of SU alums
-RUSH/Neil Peart stuff

I'm looking forward to talking to all you wonderful collectors/sports fans out there. :)

Hello everyone. My name is Bryan, live in Las Vegas, NV and wanted to say Hi. I joined these forums a couple of months ago and have mainly been a reader, but I believe I'll be frequenting them more. I have been using another forum site for a few months (BO) but have been growing tired of the antics I see daily on the site. It seems the people here are more interested in helping others and interested in the hobby itself.

Anyhow, recently got back into collecting at the beginning of this year. I decided to continue my childhood collection of David Justice, so I've been focusing on that mainly. Met some great people who collected him and have helped me out tremendously. My childhood collection was mainly base cards, cut back on collecting in about 1996 when I started high school and bought a few cards here and there over the years, but nothing substantial. Along with Justice, I collect some other Braves - Smoltz, Maddux, Glavine, Chipper, Beachy, Heyward, Hanson, McCann, Freeman, Kimbrel and so on. As for others - Dontrelle Willis, Brandon McCarthy, Tom Milone, Jarrod Parker and A&G Relics (all players).

Looking forward to talking with you all!

Just signed up. Have stalked the boards for a while and finally decided to start an account. I have been collecting for just over 10 years. I mainly collect Frank Thomas, Paul Konerko, and Alexei Ramirez. Hope everyone has a good night!

Although I have only recently created an account here, I was a member on the old Beckett boards and I have followed this board since it's beginning.

My collecting focus is based around each years base Topps set and anything Texas Rangers related.

I've enjoyed the site for many years and I now look forward to participating.

I had signed up quite some time ago but never really posted much up here. I've been in and out of the hobby for a while now and since then I have been rebuilding my collection. I hope to get back into again with my kids and that I can resume pulling the big ones like this: 274.jpg my first booklet ever and of randall cobb 4/10 and this card 2012-01-13+15.56.07.jpg Cam Newton 5/5. I already sold it but I've seen it floating around a few times on the ebay.

Hello all! I'm Nick, and I'm a naval officer currently on Oahu. I'm on a few other forums, but I like what I'm seeing here, so I thought I'd join up. My main PC is Ryan Zimmerman, and I do PCs of Dick Groat, Stephen Strasburg, Bryce Harper, Cal Ripken, Jr, and Steve Lombardozzi, Jr.. I like to complete Topps Heritage every year (at least the base and SPs, as well as one of every Ryan Zimmerman base/auto/relic card). I'm one 2010 Heritage black refractor of Zimm away from completing the 2010 Zimmerman set! I do a little prospecting, but I like to focus mostly on those players and interesting vintage. My favorite card in the world is the T213 Type 2 Coupon Cigarettes Walter Johnson. Looking forward to posting and trading with you all.

I signed up back in June but have been so busy doing card shows and buying on eBay that I have not checked in here nearly enough to get the pulse of the hobby FCB style! All I can say is the old school selling by the pack is starting to make a come back at the shows . It's nice to see the kids coming back into the hobby with their fathers lately and away from the X Box addiction lol.

Just started up my account. Been collecting for most of my life, with a 5 year break that was ended earlier this year. Collect mostly baseball, focusing on Andres Galarraga, Jeff Francouer and Gordon Beckham. Also, just decided to build the 1959 Topps set over the next few years.

Welcome to the boards! Can I ask why you chose the username you chose?

Hi all. My name is Nathan and I'm a wizened 25. ;). I've loved baseball cards since I was a kid, but my collecting has only been off and on. I'd get really into it for a good while then just as suddenly something else would grab my interest and the cards would just fade away like "Dust in the Wind". <--- Love the old stuff btw. What got me back into collecting was the $10 boxes and $5 plastic packages of randomly mixed cards. You know the ones you find at grocery stores, K-Marts, and the like... I really enjoyed those because they came chock full of cards from the 90's (My Golden Era) and a mix of newer ones, ostensibly to wet my interest in catching up with the rest of the world, sooner or later. I love the 90's because they offer such a variety of cards, my favorites being the ones that, regardless of the starpower, put you in the moment. The cards who's pictures border near works of art. Vividly illustrated and loads of awesome! Anyways... I was hooked again. You can imagine how amazed I was to find this forum. I knew cards had gone more hobby / collectible and higher end as of late, specially with MLB cutting down the manufacturers to UD and Topps, but I'd never expected to find a 'rum with such knowledge and good vibes. I chilled a couple days, skimming through the pages, scouting yall out, really just trying to pick a badass name, and finally got myself registered. I found you guys through my iPhone btw. Loving that app.

I guess I should talk about my collecting interests 'fore you bring out the BoredHammer of Death. Valhalla! To be honest I'm still feeling my way around. Off the top of my head I would definitely say Greg Maddux and anything Cubs. I would really love to find a Jim Bouton card out there. Ball Four was an EXCELLENT book. :D. Other than that I am thinking about putting together an album of knuckleballers. Candiotti, Niekro, Dickey, and I believe a Wilhelm Hoyt? If my memory serves me well. I do dabble a bit in basketball, in which case it'd be Bulls Bulls, Michael Jordan, and more Bulls. Any Chicago sports for me tbh.

Sorry if I'm rambling. My thoughts are all over the place. I'm just happy to be here. Looking to learn the hobby, expand and organize the collection, and make a little money on the side, most of which will find it's way back into my collections, but some may go to a savings for some better things in life. ;). Don't worry I am not expecting to strike it rich or anything, I just want to learn the game, and acquire the skill-set / savvy to get the most out of my cards. Business or pleasure Mr. Bond? Both!
