WelcomeCartersDad said:Hey guys,
Just wanting to introduce myself, my name is Chris. I have been collecting baseball cards since the "lovely" early 90's, I still am holding out that hope that 1990 Topps will be worth something someday. ::facepalm:: Can those cards be worth something in weight? Anyway, haven't done much in the hobby since the early to mid 2000's. 6 months ago we had our first child (A BOY) I decided it would be cool to start buying some packs and good rc's to give to him one day. I am sitting on a very nice coin collection that was handed down to me and I am contemplating trading that in so I can invest into something that I can share with my son someday. I have been married since I was 19 years old and my wife was 18, we have enjoyed 11 years of marriage and it has been wonderful. So the joy of having our first child has brought out the child in me again. I have been collecting boxes and packs and storing them, I opened some and I have no idea what’s in those sleeves. I just had fun looking for the "Rare" cards and pretty much discarded everything else. I am hoping to look back into those boxes and finding something great. The most recent set I put together myself was the first Topps Heritage set, I believe it was 2001. I love that set, except for the fact that the only Cal Ripken High # Series I got had printing streaks on it. I spent so much time putting that set together, WHAT FUN!!!!! Anyway, looking forward to learning what has changed in the hobby, it looks like serial #'s are more prevalent and refractors are crazy. I still remember reading that story about the Strasburg and the fact that the Longoria might still be out there. Talk to you guys as the years go on, hopefully my son will have some fun with this hobby and it won't send me to the poor house!
Cheers,
Chris

Anyone from r.c.c.d. in the 90s here?

Do you still have that framed Olindo Mare Pro-Bowl-used jersey that Topps cut-up?
