I use Beckett organizer to catalog all my stuff, spend most of my free time sorting and adding stuff.

I've added about 24k so far which has taken months and probably have another 10 or 15 to go.. I actually enjoy the tedious process.

I'm well aware Beckett price generally isn't sale price, but it's fun to watch my total go up because hell I don't care what someone would buy it for because I'm not selling so it IS worth that much to me.

I use an excel sheet. i find it helps me to stay organized but also I like making spreadsheets :)

I track quite a few things, mostly so i can sort the data and be able to quickly answer non-trivial questions like "How many cards so you have of your PC player that are serial numbered to their jersey number?"

joking aside, here is what i track:
1) Year / Card set / Card number
2) Player name
3) Raw or graded - if graded, list label or cert number, subgrades, etc.
4) Print run or serial number - allows me to sort by everything /25 or less, or with print run 100 or less, etc.
5) Special characteristics - on-card auto, sticker auto, IP auto, GU
6) Team - can see how many cards I have of Pedro in a Sox uni or Expos uni
7) Other - do i have a scan? is the card a duplicate?

i dont think all of that data is required, just sharing what I track.

This is how I do mine but I add one more section because I "hyperlink" it to the scan of the card. Every time I need to see a picture of the card, one click of the mouse and there it is....

Just wait for 2005....

Oh i dont need to. 1998 was the biggest influx of inserts... My list will be so full of "wants". Forget completing any years.

Heck, 1992 is so full of STAR sets and promos, that it will be a miracle if i even pull off any complete years after it.

I keep a simple word document with the year/set/card no./serial #/price of every card I own. All cards are listed in descending order based on year and then alphabetical order according to manufacturer/set name. I also keep a section for cards I come across that I don't acquire so that I'll have good info if that card pops up down the line. My PC is so focused that this is the easiest method for me to use.

I am in the process of sorting/organizing my PC right now. Also changing my focus slightly and thinning out. So, once I figure that out, I'll set up a spread sheet and get to the documentation part of it.

I have a spreadsheet that I have invested literally hundreds of hours. I will try to get a link to it later.

I also use www.zistle.com as a virtual collection organizer. I love it.

Luckily using google docs allows me to work on my list at work and at home. So tonight at work I was able to get thru to Donruss 1995... Its gonna be a long process.

Current I have a few ways.
First I have a master Excel sheet for my Oswalt collection.
Second I have my site to showcase images and data.
Third, I have used Zistle but not recently.
