I've been getting quite a few eBay communiques from potential bidders of late asking this question. Not sure why.

My response is that as long as it arrives within my designated payment deadline and is a US postal money order, that would be ok.

Do you all still accept them?

Absolutely!

However, I will not send until I deposit it and it has cleared. As long as they make it clear thay are paying with a m.o., I will make my position clear as mentioned above, and I'll happily make the transaction. However, I'm not anal enough to demand it arrives within a 'pre set' time. I understand the p.o. can take a bit sometimes, so as long as I know ahead of time, and it arrives within a couple weeks, it's all good to me. I must say that I never sell anything as to where I NEED the money immediately though, but if I did, I may demand payment "within my designated payment deadline" like you do.

I take all forms of payment- $ orders (any type, as long as they clear), cashier’s checks, personal checks, cash, etc. Oddly, since ebay said we can’t advertise non-paypal payments, the # of non-paypal payments I get has risen. Thanks for saving me PP fees, ebay :)

Funny u bring this up jp. Haven't gotten any of those in a loooong time but 2 weeks ago I get an email about the money order. Normally, I say I prefer only pp but after seeing the guy's recent feedback, a certain conglomerate (you) left a pos so I said sure. Going on 2 weeks wo money order now. Ugh. Dave

You're probably getting more of these requests because NARU'ed buyers probably can't pay with Paypal if they join up on eBay again.

This doesn't mean that the buyer does not have PayPal. They may be willing to pay with it if they had your PayPal address.

Actually, most of these requests have been coming from those with feedback over 1000.

I had a sale of 1500 bucks come via MO. Made me happy because I skipped the paypal fees.

This doesn't mean the account they have now is their first account, plenty of buyers rack up that much fb in a few months.

Sellers cannot state they take them nor do they have to accept them.

Buyer has to ask.
