I took a picture of a majority of my Albert Pujols cards this afternoon. It made me think, when will my collection end? I don't know if I can answer that now. I know my collection does not stand up to some of FCB's player collectors but it is decent with stacks of oddball, jumbo cards and low serial numbered cards.

I have Hickory Crawdads as home team = 200 players bats ,300 signed baseballs -many are fouls and some homeruns . No idea how many signed cards etc . At least 5 3200 counts just of players I know . I've met many of their parents and really enjoy sitting with their G/f's LOL. Mike Greenwell's son played against us and his parents were here --I got his foul baseball and gave to Mike .

I think about it more and more each week that passes. I don't really want to stop chasing or get rid of my stuff, but with zero interest from my boys at this point, selling seems to be the only reasonable answer. Then the question is when? I have amassed close to 50 years of stuff, but the majority of it coming over the last 25+ years when the internet took off for this kind of thing. I don't have 45 years left to sell this off the way I bought it though...

Then, not to sound too morbid, but occasionally you have a collector who will die while collecting. Often they didn't know that they were at the end and will never know what became of their stuff either.

its a question most of us will need to face and answer eventually.

Yeah man. That's the truth.

All of us need to get it together and A) have a will, and B) leave clear instructions in that will for our successors on how to dispose of our card collections.

I have both, but lately, after thinking about it more, I've realized I need to update the instructions. But months go by and I haven't done those updates.

It's tough to both guarantee that the cards will be passed on, maybe even at a fair price, without too much hassle for the people left to clean up after you're gone.

At 74, the collecting keeps me going and having another thing to look forward to each day. Probably ends when I do. But, until then.......

My PC is focused on obtaining an autograph of every Rangers player, coach, and manager in history. So even if I somehow reach my goal during an offseason, there will always be new players, so I don't see my collection ever ending. Which is kind of preferred for me.

Yes -- I knew the man that did that set . I had COMPLETE set years ago . He also got Vets in wheelchairs to baseball games . He came to Hickory for couple games --I had him throw out first pitch --his first time .
