Pretty simple... do you think Greg Maddux should get 100% of the HOF vote?

I wasn't sure whether to say "will" get or "should" get, so feel free to comment with your thoughts.

I personally don't think he will get it and I don't think he should because just doesn't strike me as "the guy" to push through and be the first IMO.

There are those old farts that will purposely leave a person off of a ballot just because they dont feel anyone should ever receive 100% of the votes, what a crock of XXXX.

6x Top 13 in MVP
13 Consecutive GG's, 18 total
8x All Star

He was a dominate pitcher for 19 years, how that doesnt get you 100% of the vote, then no one ever will, and that is just plan stupid.

Should he? Hell Effing Yeah!!!

Yes he should, but unfortunately, no he will not.

Anyone that has the opportunity to vote for Greg Maddux to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, and chooses NOT to, should have their voting privilege permanently revoked. There is no way on earth anyone could honestly believe he isn't a HOFer, so the only reason to not vote for him is ego-driven. IMO there isn't room for egos on something like HOF voting that deserves objectivity.

"I'm the guy who kept Maddux from getting 100% of the vote" or "No one should ever get 100% of the vote". Both are idiotic statements.

I firmly believe the Hall of Fame should invalidate any blank "protest" ballots and then remove said voter from the voting body. That way the idiot writer is removed from the pool and his non-vote is not counted in the tally. Anyone submitting a blank ballot is essentially saying they have no interest in the process and no longer wish to participate and should be held to that (and/or publicly ridiculed for doing so).

Greg Maddux is the one guy that I could not cast a vote for and he would still make the Hall of Fame so I can essentially vote for 11 players!! Then maybe Tim Raines can hook me up one more time!!!

I know he is a first ballot HOF'er.

I also don't think of him as the poster boy for first and only person to get 100% votes.

If some of the greats of the past couldn't do it, I almost feel like no one will but I'm OK with that.

I don't know how anyone can make a valid argument for leaving them off their ballot. We know he won't get 100% though. The voters that leave him off their ballot should have to relinquish their right to vote.

Devil's advocate here - What is wrong with a writer feeling like getting 100% of the HOF vote is a "sacred place" (for lack of another term) and feeling like if Babe Ruth and the like didn't get it, then no one should? Lets face it, Maddux is a sure fire first ballot HOF'er... maybe some people just feel strongly that no one should get 100% of the votes.
