Do you think Topps is storing any sticker auto's for the long-term?

You get 1000 and use 400-500 before am athlete dies...that's why you still de duke snider and Stan Musial sigs in some products..

I just used my last Larry Hagmans and I still have James Gamdolfini myself ..

This is the good part it the sticker controversy I guess.. BG

That's interesting. So the sticker sheets are typically 1,000 stickers to a sheet? Do you have pictures of what they look like before and/or after they're signed? Bet that'd be a cool picture or something to see for a collector.

I would bet on it.

I dont think they are or have been stockpiling legends like Musial or Koufax but I would guess that as certain guys get older they are keeping their sigs back for future product

Don't ask me why, because I don't have a good answer (this is the definition of an impulse buy), but I landed 108 Blake Johnson "cut" autographs a while back. What can I say, they were cheap and he was a Dodger prospect. They are on plain white card stock, with the Fleer and Skybox logos ghosted behind the signature. These were obviously meant for thicker cards, where the card image and a cut out would lay over the signature to form a "cut" look. I assume these made their way to me ultimately, via the bankruptcy.

Because Johnson wasn't much of a player, and still has never reached the MLB level (although he was back in the LA organization pitching AAA this past season) I really have no good use for these. I could make 108 different customs, but why? This is an example of a signature stash only a mother could love unless the guy does something amazing as a 30 yo rookie or something like that!!

I think I asked leaf once about this. People dont like sticker autographs, but I understand the utility them for the card companies. I really dont understand why they dont just sign these types of index cards and mount them that way. It can't be that tough to make cards around that design, and it makes everyone happy.
