Ive wondered this from time to time, but never asked...

Does anyone here actually have a complete run of base Topps sets from 1952-2011 (left 2012 out since still too early to have it?

Any links to them? Would love to see some of the earlier years!

I completed my first half of 2012 today. From 1970-2011 I need a total of 29 cards to complete all of the sets. I am missing most of the 60's sets, but 54-59 I have 4 complete sets and need 150 cards or so to finish them. Dont have anything from 53 and only have about 30 cards from 52

That was my goal many years ago, but then family and finances got in the way.
So I haven't added much to my collection over the past few years.
Right now I have a nearly complete '58 set, about 3/4 of the '71 set, and a complete run from 1979-2008.
I love set building.

If you want to do 2012, I have a nice batch of extras to help you get started!

Sure, Tom!
This year's set is nice and would be a great way to resume my set collecting.
Let me know what you need or want in return.

Tom, that is great... Maybe you are the closest on here :)

I am working on a 1956 set, but only have about a 1/3rd of it so far. Send a list of the 29 singles you need! If I have any they are yours.

LOL, I might be the "closest" but I need all of the big cards in most of the big years. Some folks have them.

I have all of the Yankees from those years.
Complete sets include 1955-65, plus the 1969 set. I then have all sets from 1986 to present.

I'm actually working on this too - I have completed most of 54, 1/2 - 1/3 of 56->59. I'm 80% on 60, 61 and have completed 64-69
On the 70's I am probably 3/4 through 70, 71 and 72 and have a complete run from 73 - >85. I am not really collecting the base sets past 85 for space reasons. I've been shooting for EX or better condition. Definitely a fun project - I think I'll be able to complete it 1 day, but it wont be any time soon :)

Buying factory sets is cheating.

I've built 1957-2003 Topps and 1955 Bowman at one time or another. I've sold most of them off in the early 2000's though.

He is an older guy and said he just doesn't have interest in set building any more. But I do agree.

I have 1971 (my birth year) to 2011.

Just got a couple hobby boxes of 2012 in so I should be in good shape on the start of my 2012 by the time I get around to ripping those boxes.

At one point early on I had 1964 - 1993 complete but sold off long ago. I did know a guy growing up who had the complete run up to 1989 though, not sure if he continued on or not. It was an amazing collection he had, all his sets were in great shape too!

I hope to get there one day. I have '57 through '59 and most of '60. And then I have all of '73 forward except for '74. Not even close on any of the others except for '61. My dad is close on '54 - '56.
