Oh Canada......
Ok,

At the start I was neutral.... But now that the judge sentenced them and determined they were GILTY he makes them send a BS appology letter, this is the typical star treatment that athletes/actors get and it makes me angry.

from the photo's I seen it looks like they kicked the S&*^ out of that cab driver... At minimum if that happend where I am from I would get 50+ community hours and that's if I was lucky.

I just don't feel right about this ruling... but what can you do?

Your thoughts?

Thanks.

I am not completely familiar with the case other than the odd media report I have seen. I assume that the cabbie decided on a negotiated payday in exchange for greatly reducing his complaint level.

so dd he get any hours

Nothing at all! Just him and his cousin need to write an appology letter... must be nice to beat the heck out of someone and be found guilty and have to write a "Sorry" note.

That doesn't even fly in public schools anymore... I remember when I was in public school and got in a fight, I had to write a sorry note ;) That must be how it works with celebs too!

Even the cab driver's attorney said all along that everything was blown out of proportion.

I don't know about you, but if a cab driver locked me in his cab after not receiving a tip, I'd get violent too.

Same thing I've said all along. The cabbie's lawyer has said the entire case was not criminal and was blown out of proportion. All's well that ends well.

It's just like people trying to compare the Stallowrth incident to the Burress incident. All they see is the end result. In the Stallworth incident, the family of the guy Stallworth ran over settled for money and didn't want Stallworth to serve much time. ******* Burress, he had a plea agreement on the table for a MUCH lesser sentence than what he ended up getting, that's his own ******* fault for turning it down.

I think the reason no one has mentioned it much is because we're all too used to celebrities getting love tap in punishment.
