Done Deal: Samardzija/Hammel to the A's for Addison Russell/Billy McKinney/Dan Straily

I heard that Oakland could have actually traded Russell++ for David Price, but the A's opted to go after multiple arms instead. I can definitely understand that especially when Samardzjia is having a better season anyways. If that is true, what is everyone's thoughts on that? Should they have traded that package for Price instead?

I think the fact that they get shark for next year as well probably played a big factor in that decision if this is indeed true.
