...and is out of the game.

What happened to this guy? He was so tough in Florida, but since the trade to Detroit he's been horrible. I still say the Tigers got the better end of the deal because Miguel Cabrera is the best all-around hitter in the AL, but the D-Train has been terrible.

Willis's peripherals were actually pretty terrible over his last two years in Florida. Most people saw this coming when the Tigers acquired him.

Anyone see how serious Miggy's injury is?

he was running to 2nd base when he appeared to have a hamstring cramp. he stayed in the game and ended up scoring, then was taken out

Just to clarify, he didn't walk 5 in a row.

FROM BOSTON.COM:
The Sox just scored six runs in the top of the third.

Willis blew up, walking four batters and hitting one while getting only one out in the inning. It was an embarrassing implosion. Made you feel bad for the guy.

He started the inning by hittiing Jacoby Ellsbury (who has been an on-base machine while hitting in the lower third of the order here in Detroit).

Willis then walked Julio Lugo, prompting a visit from his pitching coach.

George Kottaras took a called third strike, then Pedroia walked on four pitches, loading the bases. J. D. Drew walked to force home the first run, then Kevin Youkilis walked for another run. That was it. Jim Leyland came out to get Willis.

In other news, Justin Verlander and Rick Porcello have been named the pitcher of the month and rookie of the month, respectively. Each was 5-0 in the month of May with Porcello posting a 1.50 ERA while Verlander posted a 1.52 ERA.

Pitching has been great lately for Detroit which is the main reason for their recent success.

Bondo Time!

I'd love to see Bonderman replace Willis in the rotation.

They could move Dontrelle to the bullpen and he would fit right in with the way he walks batters.
