Now my dream team may be brutal, it's comprised of players I love or loved watching. The second grouping will be the 'historical' team.

C - Ivan Rodriguez
1B - Derrek Lee
2B - Danny Uggla
3B - Scott Rolen
SS - Omar Vizquel
LF - Clifford Floyd
CF - Mark Kotsay
RF - Bob Abreu
P - Joshua Michael Johnson

He was awesome. But he did have old Eddie Mathews swinging behind him.

Actually Mathews only hit after Aaron from 54-55. Starting in 56, Aaron hit 4th and Mathews 3rd ( for the majority of games). they batted Mathews in front of Aaron almost every game they played in together from 1956 to 1963. Starting in 64 Mathews production went on the decline and they batted him anywhere from 2-7.

Wasn't aware. It was just one of the thing I always heard. It made sense to me. Never checked the stats though.

Babe Ruth can hit them in when they all get on base

he can pitch too, doesnt matter where anyone else plays with that lineup

Delahanty is one of the oddest sports stories ever. Can you imagine if that happened to someone of his caliber today?

1. LF - Rickey. I know Teddy Ballgame was a better hitter, but my team needs a leadoff batter and Rickey is it.

3. CF - Mantle
4. C - Gibson
5. RF - Hank
6. 1B - Gehrig
7. SS - Wagner
8. 3B - Brooks
9. SP - Big Train
RP - Mariano
If DH is allowed, add Ruth into the cleanup spot and shift everyone else down one.
