April stats: 4 G, 1-0, 1.23 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 22/8 K/BB

He is now the first pitcher in the modern era to start his first 4 games and only give up 1 run or less in each start. But he's not getting much love or notice even being on a top team. Maybe it's because he doesn't have many cards, but whatever the reason he's on fire to start his career.

I couldn't agree more. His Elite auto's have went up a bit, but not what you would think for his solid young start. And actually He and Verlander are the only 2 starters doing any good for them right now. Scherzer stinks, Porcello smells, although he did pitch slightly better tonight and got the win.

What Smyly NEEDS a BC RC auto!

It's weird how that makes someone big around here.

The other weird thing is that none of the Tigers recent big rookies have had any bowman chrome autos.

Porcello - zip
Smyly - zip
Avila - zip
Castellanos - zip

Boesch is the only guy since Verlander, and he kinda came out of nowhere.

Did literally no one notice when Brennan Boesch lead the Minors in HR for the 2009 campaign? I do remember thinking he was a little old but $10 a piece for his blue autos at the time seemed reasonable. One of the few times buying into a low priced guy like that paid off well for me.

I've been thinking the same thing. Let's lead a petition!! ;)

Actually Castellanos will have a BC prospect auto in 2012 Bowman Chrome. There's a picture of it on the pre-sell sheets. But it would really be nice to see Avila, Porcello, Smyly, ect., have chrome auto's too. AND, it would really be nice if Turner would sign his '11 BC prospect auto redemptions!!!

Having said that though, there is a looong list of Non-Tiger players whose auto's collectors and prospectors alike would love to see on Bowman Chrome cards.

Actually that would make for a good thread!

Yeah, for some reason he still wasn't considered a top prospect. It was a weird situation for sure. I made bank on Boesch too. Even base cards were hot.
