Someone explain this to me --

Logic would dictate that both he and Strasburg are probably going to make it up around the same time this year -- Agree?

These two are going to be joined at the hip on ESPN...

Am I the only one that's thinking...

"Strasburg pitches a 7 inning gem that fellow first rounder, Drew Storen, promptly finished off" is going to be a common theme on the sports networks?

Basically, your "Washington's future looks bright .. blah blah" type stuff. Storen's cards are selling for between 1-3 bucks for a base auto, which is pretty low considering how he'll be tied to Strasburg for at least a year or two.

Sure, Storen might end up as the ugly step-child in the long-run, but I'm certain that he'll be able to sell base for at least 5-10 times the going rate.

At 0.99 per card, I'm not talking jaw dropping long-term numbers, but if you can ship 'em in fives to negate shipping percentages...

Sure, Storen might end up as the ugly step-child in the long-run, but I'm certain that he'll be able to sell base for at least 5-10 times the going rate.

Point taken in terms of Storen feeding off of Strasburg's aura/hype, and possibly creating hobby value as such. My problem with the equation is 1) it's the Nats - no matter how well Strasburg pitches I don't see that team creating an abundance of save situation anytime in the next 3-4 years 2) it's entirely possible Storen isn't the long-term solution as a closer - the Nats had to select him where they did because the had to have a sure-fire sign or else lose that compensatory pick forever; on top of that a lot of scouts, while they liked Storen in the pen, didn't necessarily see him as a dominant closer. To me the possibility of making money with Storen would seem much better if he played elsewhere and had better stuff. All that said, prices are rock bottom...only one way to go if you believe in him.

Yah, the early signing gave us some pretty tantalizing data though. After Storen essentially tore through the leagues with very legit numbers, I thought he'd start out at least higher than the bare minimum.

Storen definitely changed some of the scouts minds after the draft.. sorta like Sanchez did later in the year. Even with Sanchez's very solid performance, it's tough to justify his prices, but man...

If I was buying stuff from a seller and he had a Storen card listed and it cost me an extra .25 cents shipping + 1.55 (or whatever his cards are at) -- Is there a reason to say no?
