I am glad he is FINALLY getting the call up.

I think he should have been called up last year, shortly after Bruce.

Anyways, glad to see another UT alum is getting his big league break.

Here's to hoping he comes out of the gates a swingin'.

I wonder what this means for Balentien`s playing time... wlad has been the reds best hitter since he was aqcuired...but still can`t get consistant playing time.

Taveras was placed on the DL, so Stubbs should just slide into his spot and it really shouldnt hurt Balentien too bad

But I agree Wlad has been raking and Dusty wont consistently play him, its very frustrating

And Stubbs is starting in CF and leading off tonight vs the Giants

Why Topps has yet to sign him is one of the biggest mysteries of prospecting.

Awesome. Just what the Reds need. Another outfielder that will strike out once every four at bats and struggle to hit .250.

(No offense to those of you who have a different opinion. I've been down on the kid from the day he was drafted. I hope he proves me wrong. But he won't.)

As much as his bat has been called into question, his other tools are considered to be well above average. Maybe, just maybe, he'll be up to the task.

But yeah, I do see him struggling at the plate in the Show, at least at first.

Yeah, I probably should have pointed out that I was aware of his other attributes. He'll steal some bases, play good defense, and walk more than Willy Tavaras and that can't be discounted. But I still say he won't hit and that his long-term ceiling is as a #4 outfielder.

.714 OPS in AAA will bring the excited people back to earth...but you have to give him a shot if there's a position for him.

Honestly he could prolly bat left handed and be better than Willy Taveras, and Im tired of Taveras' lackadaisical play, and his less then average outfielding, and the fact that his obp might be lower than some NL pitchers...

Thats why Im excited for him

This is probably one of his better cards since he hasn't had any Bowman Chrome released yet ... in addition to my 150+ USA autos (he's been my favorite prospect since before he was even drafted), I picked up this bad boy:

I think (and hope) he will prove you very wrong ... he has always excelled when promoted, and then seems to get bored after he is successful at the level ... I think he has just been coasting through each level of the minors to this day and will become a star leadoff man for the Reds.

Finally! :D

Sadly this is the only thing (outside of a Tristar auto) that I have:

Not a bad debut. Hit a double. One of only 2 Cinci hits so far heading into the bottom of the 9th.
