E-ROD be Dealing.....

Start with the honesty, I am invested in Eduardo Rodriguez. Bought in mainly when he was UBER cheap. But I get so excited when guys I have been investing in for 18 months get the call and play well.

None the less, his first start has been a tremendous success thus far. Hopefully he keeps it up.

He's looked GREAT out there. Nice command of his fastball and then he started to work in his slider and changeup the second time through the order. His fastball was 93-95 (topping out at 96) and his offspeed pitches (well nothing he throws is really offspeed....kid throws everything hard!) were getting some swings and misses. Not much in the way of hard contact, hardest hit ball was the double by Hamilton who swung at a first pitch fastball in the zone, but [Hamilton's] next at bat Eddy wised up a bit and threw him a first pitch slider instead. He probably could have had a couple more strikeouts too, but missed his location with his fastball but still got the outs.

I was very impressed with his demeanor on the mound, looked very confident out there. I know Farrell said E-Rod was only going to make 1 start to give every pitcher an extra days rest during this long stretch of games, but no way in hell can you take him out of the rotation. Joe Kelly needs to go in the bullpen until he figures it out. (I think Kelly will figure it out, but we can't afford to have any several run starts right now)

Made a pair of nice Eddy sales tonight. I had already moved a bunch at nice profit with his solid start in the minors. Into the black on him with the stuff tonight

I hope he remains in the rotation. Wright is more valuable as the long-man

It will be a shame if he doesn't stay with the big club
