It's still very early, but here are a few observations. Feel free to add your own!

MLB Surprises:
1. Two San Fransisco pitchers- Lincecum 4-0 to start the season. We knew he was good, but a 4-0 start for the first time in his career and Sanchez a 1.86 ERA and 27 Ks after 19 IP.

2. Matt Kemp- Seems to have finally put it all together. Will be interesting to see if he can keep it going.

3. Carlos Zambrano- He hasn't been consistently good over the last couple seasons, which is something he has proved he is capable of, but a move to the bullpen? Who saw that one coming?

MiLB Surprises:
1. Wilmer Flores- What a great start for him compared to last season. As of Saturday, he has put up 13 RBI in the last 4 games. Seems to be coming into his own.

2. Derek Holland- Incredible start. People forget about guys like Holland who get called up and don't immediately make a huge impact, but this guy is putting up monster numbers through his first few starts.

3. Quincy Latimore- Not a big name guy at all, especially being in the Pirates' system, but still fairly young and putting up BIG numbers so far this season at .333/4/19 as of Saturday.

Card Surprises:
1. Jason Heyward- Preseason #1 prospect and sure to debut in 2010, but who in the world could have predicted that his cards wouldn't just see an increase, but would hit the insanity level. When just about every one of his already high card prices triple and Bowman Base sell for $5-10, it starts to be difficult to even understand the logic of buyers. A prospector's dream.

2. Lincecum Chrome Autos- On the rise with his early success. How high will they go?

3. Mike Stanton- Off to a good, not great, start, and his Chrome autos continue to climb. Perhaps the Heyward mania has influenced the price of other top prospects' cards with people hoping for a similar spike.

For me it'd be Andruw Jones. Glad to see he has turned it around.

.293 AVE
6 HR
1.164 OBPS

I was going to say the revival of Jones, Konerko, and Vernon Wells have to be up there.

If I am a fan of the Nationals, I would worry that they make a trade due to media and fan pressure. Nationals FO, if your 8 games out of the Wildcard come the trading deadline, don't do anything. Shoot for .500.

I am surprised how well Mike Pelfrey is doing....

Chase Headley with a ~.900 OPS. And of course my boy Oswalt with a 1.00 WHIP and 4 quality starts. He usually starts off slow, but not this year.

Jonathan Sanchez- lots of K's. Much better control.
Alberto Callaspo- Showing some pop early on. Avg. has always been there.
Casey McGehee- Picking up where he left off last year. He had lots of doubters.
Ubaldo Jimenez- Didn't see the no-no coming.
Shaun Marcum- Looks great considering he's just back from TMJ.
Chris Young- Showing some promise. .270 3HR 16rbi...K's a bit lower so far.
Matt Kemp- Beasting.
Andre Either-Beasting
Kendry Morales- Continues to produce ,but gets no love.
Padres/Nationals- Doing much better than I expected.
Ricky Romero- looking like a stud.
O's- are horrible..
Zambrano- bullpen?
Prince Fielder/Tulo- 1HR?
