eBay Auction Advice?

I'm just getting my feet wet with eBay, and really like this card. I have wanted one for a while and want to make an offer on it, but the blurry picture worries me. He has 100% feedback, but I'm still leary. What do you all think?

#2 - Decide for yourself if the auction suits your needs.


I mean really, what are you expecting to get for feedback? All that matters is if you are happy with the scan. Can someone actually tell you weither or not you should be? I do not mean to sound harsh, but as a "new to e-bay" guy, you have to learn hard and fast, buy only what you want, how you want, and keep it to yourself until you have it in hand.

Maybe he was hoping for someone to say that they knew the seller or had dealt with them in the past. Maybe he was hoping for some constructive criticism of the card and less than clear picture of it. Maybe he was hoping for a reason to continue coming to this site and not be belittled for asking a question that is asked on this board all the time.

As to the original poster. I would send the seller an message asking for a clearer scan of the card. Based on his other auctions, he has a scanner. If he declines to, I wouldn't buy the card. But he if does, you can make a more informed decision.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I didn't even think to ask for a clearer scan of the card, so thanks for suggesting that.

As far as "what are you expecting for feedback," I was hoping someone would say "I don't know if I'd be comfortable buying with a fuzzy picture like that," or "It may be fuzzy, but I think you're safe." As far as keep it to myself until I have it in-hand... what?

No reason a fuzzy scan would worry me

I know what you were looking for, but I was trying to tell you that you are the one who has to decide if a picture is too fuzzy for your liking or not. How does what I think of a picture tell your brain and eyes anything different? Will you not still see the same fuzzyness? Does my comfort level with a fuzzy picture affect yours?

And you keep things to yourself because all to often here, when you post a link to an auction in question, someone will snatch it up. Just a bit of advice, take it or leave it..

Sorry if I came off a bit harsh. I have been having that problem with most of my posts today. I think one thing, then after all the typing is done and the post is up, it reads as a different animal...

Just one of thoes days I guess......


Back on topic though, a blurry or fuzzy, or overly cropped scan is always a red flag to me. As mentioned, asking for a better scan is always an option but I would tend to stay away from buying a card I can not get a good look at, even in this case where the guy has 100% feedback and lots of sales. If he could not provide me with an appropriate scan, then I'd just move on...
