Hi. I sold a BGS 10 Madison Bumgarner Sterling for a Best offer of $125 on 10/22. The buyer paid on 10/24. Then i had the following communcation with the buyer:
From Me Today:
Hi. I just wanted to let you know that I had your package ready to be shipped before I went away for work for a couple days, but I just realized that I forgot to drop your package in the mail box. I hope you can understand and I will get them in the mail as soon as i get home Thursday afternoon. Thank you.
From Buyer Today:
its taken to long can we cancel and get a refund i promise no neg feedback i had it sold but the guy whos buying is leaving thursday

Now what should I do. I offered to try and get someone to stop at my house and ship the card, but I have yet to receive a response. I think it's bogus, especially since he says he promises not leave me a negative. I would have to eat the ebay selling fees as well, correct? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you everyone.

How long did you state in your auction it would take? It hasn't been 7 days either.

I have 3 days from cleared payment that I will ship. I'm sure I could get in the mail tomorrow too.

You won't have to eat the selling fees if you cancel the transaction because you and the buyer disagreed over terms, as long as the buyer also agrees to cancel.

I sucks to lose a sale that big. But if you try to make him take it anyway, you will most likely end up losing out. He will leave negative feedback. And if you ship the card he might try to lie and say it never arrived.

Your best bet is to cancel.

I'm a firm believer in solving these things right away and not throwing a lot of time and effort into them.

Take the buyers out i think. You already admitted that you took longer than you should have (I don't think that's too long, but nevertheless), and it may give him grounds to neg you. You have a card that, IMO, is pretty special and you could probably get that again at some point. I saw another sale for a Sterling REF 9.5 for $175, so with the World Series about to happen, you'll have plently of hype.

Cancel the transaction refund and relist. A 5 day auction put up tomorrow should end the day after Bumgarner's start. Plenty of hype and publicity for him.
