stlouiedave - I don't know if he's a member here and I don't really care. This guy is a moron.

He bought a card from me on the 15th, paid on the 16th and I was able to mail out on the 18th. It arrived on the 20th but he wasn't around to sign for it so it's waiting for him at the post office. He wrote me a nasty email asking why I didn't mail out on the 15th as I stated (I didn't say that, nor would I considering the auction ended at 9pm on a Sunday and he didn't pay until the following Monday) and that if wasn't received in the next day or two he was going to file a claim and leave appropriate feedback.

I wrote him with the tracking info and let him know it was waiting for him to pick up and I got no response until tonight when I got a message saying he's filed a claim against me.

Okay I'm done.

might be trying to pull one over on you. file the claim get the money then go pick it up. i would suggest contacting his post office and briefly explain the situation and ask if they can return to sender and just be done with the guy.

Thanks for the headsup, Bruce. Will be adding this person to my block list. Glad you got signature confirmation on the card to prevent a scam, too.

He also send these messages along with his payment:

"Please ship item 'ASAP' and and leave feedback. Item paid promptly so please do the same for shipping in return,
THANK YOU!
STLOUIEDAVE=Dave Gerleman"

The funny part is "paid promptly" is a day or two later. I always thought promptly means right after you hit the BIN? No biggie, but sorry to hear about your troubles. I have done business with this person several times with no glitches, but each case is different.

Yeah, that is exactly what he wrote. I didn't even notice it for a few days until after I sent the card to him. I'm not post office savvy so when I asked for delivery confirmation they told me my package didn't meet the thickness requirements and I asked how can I ship so I can track the package and they told me with certified mail. From the tracking info the package is at the post office waiting for him to pick it up. This guy has really ticked me off.

Maybe I should over-night some "van wilder pastries".

I sold a card to this person about a month ago and had no problems with him. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

I've had about 20 transactions with stlouiedave over the last year and many more in the years before and he's been nothing short of great. Buys a lot of Cardinals and Rams items and pays quickly. Why did you send it with signature confirmation, was it a high-end item? Not everyone can be home during the day to sign and the mailperson may not have left a slip for this item.

I'm glad you had a great experience with him, but that doesn't change the fact that I haven't. I sent the way I did in order to protect myself from people like him. I have sent the tracking information several times and he's still accusing me of not sending. It's not my fault the mail arrives during normal business hours, nor is it my fault if the mail person didn't leave a notice. The point is that the item I sent is in his town at his post office.

I sold to that guy once.

He was wondering where his card was for one week, I shipped it next day after he paid. Turned out I mislabeled the package. He was pretty understanding.

I'm not trying to lessen your experience with him but really this is over-reaction on both of you. Did you print the label through paypal? That would have given him a irrefuteable tracking number. Your here dragging his name through the mud and possibly keeping others here from having a great customer. If I created a post for every person I've had problems with on ebay I would have blisters on my fingers from all the typing. As with any business deals you can't please them all and they all can't please you.

That sounded familiar... I just sold him a Walker card. We'll see what happens with my sale.

I respect your opinion, however I believe you're the one over-reacting here. I am stating what this buyer is doing to me, I believe others have the right to know. This is the same as you coming on here and telling how you've had nothing but great dealings with him. The boards are here for various reasons, to warn people of shady things is one of those reasons. You don't have to like what I have to say about him, that's the great thing about this place. You can can also stop posting in here telling me how I should and shouldn't talk about someone. I've got someone who is pulling some BS on me plain and simple. If you'd like to tell me your ebay name, I'll add you to my blocked bidder list too.

To be fair, the initial post, aside from calling the guy a "moron", was B just relating the facts of what happened. If the facts make the guy look like a ******, maybe the guy shouldn't have done what he did; it appears that most agreed that, without the benefit of prior dealings with this buyer, he was being a wank.
