So what do you do for people that buy multiple cards? I hate paying the extra paypal fees when they pay for each BIN as they hit it.

Heh, I don't have the immediate payment required and I still get buyers that will buy 10 cards and pay 10 times....so freaking frustrating. I lose about $500-750 a year simply b/c buyers can't wait for me to send an invoice.

agree, myself as well
on a new break I have 50+ people that will buy 2-10 times each on stuff. I send them a friendly email reminder and refund only half of the extra shipping and it has slowly been improving....but takes tons of extra time

There's a way to configure automatic shipping cost for multiple items. When I list cards I charge a flat $2. Some buyers that win multiple cards send payment before I send out invoices and it's calculated correctly.

From Ebay.

Tip
  • The Flat rule lets you combine items into one package, and ship that package using flat rate shipping costs.
  • The Flat rule charges buyers the shipping price for the item with the highest shipping cost. You can then add (or subtract) an additional cost for each item purchased from you.
  • Add combined shipping discounts to your listing and eBay automatically calculates the shipping discount when the buyer checks out. You add combined shipping discounts to your listings in the Sell Your Item form.
  • Profiles let you expand your flat shipping discount rule to fit your needs. You can now specify the shipping cost for each additional item, and the items do not need to be the same type of item.

I have the flat rate rule set on all my singles listings (immediate payment NOT required), and yet there are still some buyers that will buy several items in succession (within minutes of each other), but they pay for each one as they go instead of making one payment after they buy all the items they want. Then I have to refund the excess shipping and eat the extra fees.

yep I think most all sellers have that set buy buyers pay separate all too often
not tell you what to do, but just a suggestion, as I put in the auction they MUST pay all at once otherwise there will be a charge, so that is why I do not refund the whole amount as they cost me more fees and time, it has not caused me a problem in all these years and at my volume....just a thought

Yeah, that's buyers being dumb. If anything, I'll message you asking for a combined total. Who the hell wants to pay a zillion dollars for shipping?

You'd be surprised at some people...

I do put that I combine as long as one payment is made, and to request a combined invoice, but some people ignore that and make multiple payments:(

I suppose I could ship each order paid separately in its own bubble mailer and not refund anything. Maybe that will teach them to make one payment...or not.
