I just got an invite to join EBAY's global shipping program.. Did anyone else?

I still will not be shipping anything overseas....at least not until we hear a lot if VERY successful stories coming from people who have used it.

I have been shipping international since I started on EBAY in 1999..

I've only had an issue 1 time and that was for a $20 card to Canada!

I mentioned this in another thread. . . I wound up selling a blackberry to a columbian druglor--er, buyer, through eBay via the usage of one of these in Miami. However, the buyer had set it up.

Maybe I'm missing it, but what's the benefit other than feedback protection? Doesn't the cost of shipping to their center come out of your pocket? I've been shipping larger items fine overseas through Ebay, customs form automatically filled out. And you can get the custom forms clear envelopes free from usps.com.

I think it covers lost and damaged items as well, seems when shipping over seas all someone has to do is lie and say they never got it & your screwed

Not sure which page is newer, but this link doesn't show Sports Cards as a restricted category. I tried to join, but the option doesn't show up in preferences. Apparently it's a staggered roll out and invitation only according to posts on ebay's forum, but I'm going to call ebay CS and ask if I can get in anyway. It's worth a shot, as long as cards aren't excluded.

Probably trying to help out idiot sellers who can't fill out the customs forms when printing the shipping labels out through eBay. Still easier for international buyers if you list something as a gift & sandbag its value to minimize their customs duties/taxes etc.

better that than getting neg'd by someone in south america b/c they don't want to pay taxes and try to claim "they didn't tell me about these extra costs" crap when negging.
