Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows if this is doable:

I have filed an NPB on a bidder. Ebay says I need to wait seven days after filing to give the guy a strike and close the dispute. It is day 5. I am very sure that the bidder will never pay (hasn't responded to a single email, invoice, or the NPB itself so far).

Can I offer a Second Chance Offer to the underbidder right now and still give the original non payer a strike in two days?

Or do I have to wait til the dispute is ended, give him a strike, and then do the Second Chance?

I really need to get some money asap, but I want to make sure the nonpayer gets the strike he so richly deserves.

Just to clarify. The item ended on April 4. He has made no response/reply in all this time. Filed the NPB on (I believe) April 12.

I am in the same boat...

I had a deadbeat buyer, win (12!) auctions from me on April 1st and hasn't paid and hasn't responded. I am 3 days away from being able to strike him...

Can he still leave me negative feedback??

Oh, no. Though I asked in the listing for payment within five days of auction end, I waited 7 or 8 days to file NPB. He just never responded to emails, invoices, etc.

I was wondering the same thing. I don't see how eBay could let someone leave a negative when the NPB strike has been approved. Anyone know the answer to this?

I believe that if the buyer/bidder never responds to the NPB, that he will not be allowed to leave feedback. However, with all the benefits afforded ebay bidders nowadays, I am not positive that they can't. I have been looking through the ebay help pages to find the answer, but so far, no luck.

That would piss me off to no end if the buyer left me a negative because I opened a dispute against them.

If the buyer leaves negative FB, but does not respond to the NPB, the rating and the negative will not show (count against you), the comment he left will remain in view, but it will say something like "This rating does not count due to the buyer not responding to a non paying bidder alert" under his comment. If the person does not respond in the 7 days to the NPB notice, they will not be allowed to leave FB at all. (UNLESS they have changed the rules in the last few months).

Thank you for the clarification. So far, the bidder hasn't left feedback. Let's hope it stays that way!
