eBay question

[Super Mario]

Bought something on eBay through the ‘Best Offer’ option. Went to pay, eBay told me the seller wasn’t accepting payments right now. Messaged the seller, told them about it, they said they’d look into it. Messages me back and said they had a PayPal issue and would let me know when it was resolved. Messaged me again telling me to try and pay again. I gave it a few days and just tried to pay again and it’s telling me they’re still not accepting payments.

What could be the reason for this? Are they some sort of an eBay scammer? How will this affect my eBay account if I just move on and forget about it? What are my options here? I’ve never encountered anything like this before on eBay.

i had my PP account locked because the credit card i had on file expired, could be something like that.

It was Friday when I made the purchase and all the messages began. I figure if it was something as simple as that it’d be an easy fix.
