So i have been watching this particlar auction for 10 days and realized it was ending around noon today so i called a friend and asked him to bid on it for me. No problem there. After I get back from taking my secretary out to lunch for Administrative Professionals Day I call him back and see if he/I won. I didn't win. I asked him to bid 230 earlier and the item sold for 170 something. he tells me he has something like quick bid or something which only allows you to bid just above the highest bidder and nothing more. once he was high bidder someone sniped him at the last second. Anyone know anything about this feature because I want to make sure I never get it.

Here's the auction. I'll never see that one again since it was #ed/5

What you're saying doesn't make sense. If he had a $230 snipe then that should have been your limit. Sounds to me like your friend dropped the ball and didn't put in your bid.

Did you cry? I would have!

Not crying but definitely sick to my stomach.

Did anyone check out the card? It would have been awesome. I'm sure it will be to someone else.

Actually, there IS such thing as a one click bid. It appears with (I believe) a minute and a half left in the auction. It is basically a tool (which I have found very useful) that lets you place a bid and it automatically refreshes every few seconds to see if you are still leading. Should you be outbid, you can hit enter and it submits the next highest bid increment. Not so sure what your friend means by he couldn't submit a certain price, as you ARE able to put any price you want.

is your friend the shill bidder with 2529 feedback?

That is what I don't understand either. yes he is the one with the high feedback but why didn't he just put my original high bid in? that was a rhetorical question. He told me he could only put the next highest bid in within that short time frame and not my 230 that I wanted. Oh well. it's gone. i didn't win. I'll look at it on the bright side; I saved some cash.

I believe there is a deal in My EBay set up that allows you to have it automatically bid the next highest amount for just one item. Sounds like it ran out of time to get the next bid in.
