Up for bids is this old 1952 Micky Mantel card it is real my Grandmother gave it to me for my birthday I was very suprized and thanked her. But I Dont Collect Cards And Would Rather Have The Money So I Am Saleing this super rare baseball card feturing the greatest yankee player ever in the history of baseball.

Im not a professional grader but I would grade this card as perfect condition with only a small creese across the card surface and a slightly rounder corner it also has some stains on the back MAY BE MICKY SPILLED COFEE ON THE CARD WHEN HE WAS PROMOTING MR. COFFEE.

No refunds on the card please bid early and often and please no that eventhough my feedback is 1 I be a honest seller and deeler and noone I no is more honest then me.
and...post thanked

+1... I must be in a funny mood because I literally laughed out loud at that!

I don't know anything about cards.

I actually like the I'm a hot girl who's husband left blah blah blah since the questions/answers are generally pretty funny to read, not to mention pathetic.

Annoys me when Sellers listing a card that is not priced due to scarcity but they add some ridicously high dollar amount in the title like I should pay more because you say it's 'worth' more. Tell me all you want but an Andruw Jones 1/1 printing plate is not worth for $400.

1/1 when its just a jersey number.

Have you been looking at my auctions? :o

Actually, I have something like that in all mine. Not sure if it helps with bids, but I put it in anyway.

Pretty much any auction from wolverine24, teawolves, or burbank. Teawolves and burbank obviously for the ridiculous prices, but wolverine24 for their made up prices they put in the title and subtitle. "Rare Konerko auto $400". LOL

When it says mint, and it's clear from the scan it isn't. Or when there is no scan.

This was just in an auction i just found....

"Once the package leaves my hands the post office assumes all responsibility. If items are lost or damaged your claim will be filled with the post office and not through me because they will be fully insured. Once the packages are sent and you receive tracking numbers our transaction is complete"

I've never understood why anyone would include BV in a description. Do they expect anyone to bid over half of that amount? Why limit yourself?

I have no problem with a little blurb about the player.

I have a big problem with people saying "If this doesn't sell I am going to send it in to BGS myself"

Such a stupid statement that I don't even know how to begin criticizing it ::facepalm::

I use it when I sell as well. I can also say that it does work on buyers. If I see two cards with the same price between two sellers, and only one says "smoke free", that's my deciding factor.

A little blurb is fine, but some sellers cut and paste entire Wikipedia or BaseballReference entries of a player's career highlights and stats.
If I'm interested in a Nolan Ryan or George Brett card, I think I know enough about the player without having to scroll through 15 paragraphs of a biography in an eBay auction.

Years ago I sold a cut auto from Patrick Henry and did a big copy paste about his history.

Overboard? I guess but the buyer told me he printed out my write up and framed it next to the card.

Sellers do this to add keywords to their auctions. This can help google find your auction and potentially drive views from people who use the "title and description" search.

Does it work?

I doubt it, but if it takes very little work why not bother.

I'm sure many of you are guilty of the following in your auctions.

L@@K
Hot!!!
A must for any collector
$$$$$$$$
Straight from the pack to a penny sleeve and top loader

1/1 (when it's a jersey number or something)
Bid early, bid often.
Descriptions that give multiple paragraphs of a player's biography and stats.
My loss is your gain.

I use this one. I mean, honestly, I hate when ppl just leave their hits lying around unprotected so of course I'm gonna let you know that it went straight into some type of protective holder, be it penny sleeve and top-load or one-touch. I am probably gonna mention it.

I personally don't like it when people use this, as it infers the card is in mint condition. Not all pack fresh cards are in mint condition. I feel some people use this as a way to make people think a card is mint without technically saying it. I am not saying this is what you do, but I find it skeptical when I see it in an auction.
