Again, I can see where having expertise in one field doesn't equate into another.

But as to "obscure" - that is incredibly incorrect. The Comic Buyers Guide or CBG is the equivalent to our Standard Catalog or Beckett Almanac. It, like our pubs, is the standard bearer for their hobby. No self-respecting advanced comic book collector doesn't own a copy.

Every hobby has a go-to, all-encompassing guide of some sort. It may be unknown outside of their respective hobby world, but within it - typically referred to as 'The Bible' or 'Big Book' - regardless of the hobby.

I haven't collected comics in many, many years - but no one can claim that the CBG is 'obscure'.

Well I stand corrected. I've never heard of the comic book magazines, probably because I've never had any interested in comic books. There was a phase where I bought a few, but that was only because they were really old and I was looking to make some profit.

I can't find anything definitive but I find reference to these packs in a few places. It may be real.

Just throw 1992 "Topps Grand Slam" and about a dozen sites list some version of these for sale. The only warning bell I'd have from them is that none of them are "major" baseball dealers <shrugs>
