I hate Jeter because he's a Yankee, him being good only made it more passionate. 
Him being overrated doesn't make me dislike him more, I don't think, but it makes me dislike the people doing the overrating.

If you could swap Derek Jeter and Michael Young about 10 years ago, Michael Young is the one who is the greatest thing since sliced bread and Jeter would be that decent shortstop on a bad team.

I hear this hypocritical banter all the TIME about Jeter. "He is one of the best ever, but he is overrated." How does that make sense??? He is beloved for the way he plays the game, but doesn't deserve the accolades because WHY?

because he is on the yankees and the fact that they know there favorite players will NEVER EVER become as big and as known as jeter
