If he is hated for being good at what he does, then yes, he can be compared to Derek Jeter.

Yes, 100%. He is set to be the best statistical SS of all-time AND has 4 World Series rings, yet he is hated on by MANY. I say 100%, unequivocally, no question about it, YES he is hated because of his success.

People have hate for the man because he gets stroked constantly. They get sick of hearing it. Great players are great, and it doesn't need to be said every few minutes.

You got me there, but did I give him any hatred? Have I ever? Is their any hatred for him in this post? One person called him above-average, which I would debate, but not call hatred.
He is as overrated as any baseball player in the history of the game. He is also one of the best. Do you call that "flack"?
My point: no one would have any dislike of the guy if not for people (not him) needing to pump him up all the time.
