Yikes, dont want to be that harsh on him.....Khalil Greene I would not want to be compared too.....sadly, I really liked Khalil's potential early on, now I just wish him a healthy recovery in life, let alone being able to play solid baseball for an entire season.

Fixed that for you.

If he is hated for being good at what he does, then yes, he can be compared to Derek Jeter.

You obviously get that many people don't like Jeter, but do you honestly think it's because he's good? Really?

Yes, 100%. He is set to be the best statistical SS of all-time AND has 4 World Series rings, yet he is hated on by MANY. I say 100%, unequivocally, no question about it, YES he is hated because of his success.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is definitely headed in the right direction to be considered the next top SS in MLB. Defensively he is already there, a little more experience offensively will help, remember he is only 20. The next Jeter... looks very possible.

People have hate for the man because he gets stroked constantly. They get sick of hearing it. Great players are great, and it doesn't need to be said every few minutes.

I hate Jeter because he's a Yankee, him being good only made it more passionate. :)

Him being overrated doesn't make me dislike him more, I don't think, but it makes me dislike the people doing the overrating.

You got me there, but did I give him any hatred? Have I ever? Is their any hatred for him in this post? One person called him above-average, which I would debate, but not call hatred.

He is as overrated as any baseball player in the history of the game. He is also one of the best. Do you call that "flack"?

My point: no one would have any dislike of the guy if not for people (not him) needing to pump him up all the time.

If you could swap Derek Jeter and Michael Young about 10 years ago, Michael Young is the one who is the greatest thing since sliced bread and Jeter would be that decent shortstop on a bad team.

I hear this hypocritical banter all the TIME about Jeter. "He is one of the best ever, but he is overrated." How does that make sense??? He is beloved for the way he plays the game, but doesn't deserve the accolades because WHY?
