I know there was a similar discussion about emailing the redemtion code to save the buyer the shipping charges, but this is a bit different. I have a buyer who asked me if I would email the redemption code (after he pays) so he doesn't have to wait for the card to arrive to redeem. I would still email him the redemption card and I would think that I would be covered with the delivery confirmation. However, I could see someone saying the card received was already redeemed and still filing a chargeback.

I'm probably just going to tell him that I can only mail the unredeemed card, but wanted to hear others thoughts on this situation.

since you will have to scratch the card back to get the code (i think). yep, most likely the other side would scream it as already redeemed leaving you to refund his money and he still gets the card, even if you do ship the card with delivery conformation,

I did that with an international buyer and it did not burn me. The issue was that he would be charged a huge tariff if insured the redemption. Once he paid via paypal, I emailed him the code. I then sent the card through regular shipping without major insurance. I kept copies of the emails and scanned the card so that I would have it as evidence to show Topps since it was for a Superfractor. I had no issues though, good buyer

I'd say to if it's ebay, then say sorry but to cover both of you, you are unable to email the code. If it's something you can get pp gift, then email code. Otherwise emailing code and mailing a scratched off code is just begging for a chargeback.

Thanks for the feedback! Since the buyer only has Feedback=20 (all positives), I will politely decline to email the code. I ship within 1 day, so it should only take a couple days to get to him anyways.
