This could potentially be the "biggest melt down in baseball history" for a few hours depending on the outcome of the Rays and Red Sox games.

Personally, I don't think it is as much of a meltdown as is stated. How many teams could overcome losing Jurjjens and Hanson?

Side note.....the Cardinals are the only team to have a winning record against the Phillies in the NL this year! I'm a Braves fan, so I'm obviously dissappointed too, but the Red Sux loss makes up for it! Go RANGERS!!!

Atlanta deserved to loose that every last bit. The way they had been playing in all of September is nothing more than absolute complete garbage. When your 4 hitter is hitting 233 for the season that being Dan Uggla they deserve to loose. There is not one man on that starting lineup that has hit a season batting average of 300 or better the best I see is Bourne who hit 294 this season. and to the mets fan who called us scrubs come on in all seriousness if anyone has scrubs on there team and has showed it too is the mets. Atlanta has scrubs on it too and so does most teams. When you think about it the braves have alot of young guys on there team Heyward Freeman,Teheran,Minor,Kimbrel and so on these guys only have 1 or 2 years under there belt at this point. I will say this though Heyward needs some serious work on that swing if he wants to get any better. I could tell just about the whole team looked uncomfortable and frustrated after tonight. Its sad to see them fall but they done it to themselves.

1,the cardinals, because they lost wainwright and only had carpenter from june on basically.
just an excuse because they had a hell of a lead late in september. this was the epitome of meltdowns until later when papelbon got bombed.

Let's not bring incomplete stats like batting average into this.

There are plenty of legit gripes to use. Just take a look at scoring chance failures.

Fredi mismanaged the team. He's a disaster. Like asking a finger painter to commission a masterpiece while somebody else is using Michaelangelo (LaRussa).

there were so many things wrong with the braves season this year... even in spite of all the areas I thought needed major work (RISP... wait... we are suppose to drive those guys in?!)..I was NOT expecting it to go down like it did at the end... even up till this week in spite of our horribly month I still didn't expect to be OUT after tonight.

goodbye derek lowe, you will not be missed at @#)%(@*ing all.
goodbye larry parrish.
I wish goodbye to fredi gonzalez
heyward heal up and actually get some proper hitting coaching and work in your swing...it was beautiful last year...this year it was garbage.
heal up mccann, think you came back from the oblique a lil early. hopefully your hitting will be back after having the winter off now.
chipper...hope that knee isn't totally shot. go out with style and give up 3rd to prado if so, so we don't have to work on replacing you 1/4th into next year. as much as it makes me sad to think about him going.
sort out starting rotation next year, hopefully fair better than this year. a starting rotation that can actually pitch further into games...and on a regular basis.
goodbye derek lowe. (favorite part of next year already!)
profit?
