Yeah. Webber didn't want any part of it. Maybe once his sanctions are up in 2013 he will talk. Doubtful though.

I grew up idolizing the Fab 5. Absolutely love the show last night.

Webber is still one of my all time faves.

I watched this special as well last night. I totally forgot how awesome that time period was when they were playing at Michigan. I could never get enough of watching them play. The crazy part about this was I am a big fan of Penn State now and was then as well. Usually PSU fans can't stand anything Michigan Wolverines. But I am saying it here out loud. I was a huge fan of the Fab 5 and Michigan

Very interesting show. ESPN films continues to put out good stuff. I thought the Fab Five's cultural impact was a bit overplayed.
Tons of contradictions in the show. Just a few...
Most hyped team ever but they never won a championship.
They hated Duke and thought they were soft but couldn't beat them.
Rose talks about loving to trash talk, calls Grant Hill an Uncle Tom and Laettner a pu$$y but gets his feelings get hurt because rival fans rag him on his 'crack house' problems.
Everybody made money on them but there were the ones that were punished for accepting funds.

Grant Hill is a class act. I hate guys like jalen rose talking about being "Black" means having come from a crack infested home with a single parent and no money. Grant Hill should be an idol to all students whether black or anything else. He is the essential product of a good school complemented with a student that has ambition, ethics and respect. As well as loyalty. You cant ask for anything more.

They were high level recruits. Basically they didn't live up to their hype in HS. Although, they were pretty decent college players.

The main thing I find funny is, they are angry at Duke for not recruiting inner city guys. I don't see what the issue is myself. You know if there was a great player who had the ability to make it at Duke they would take him. It makes no sense to recruit a guy who doesn't show he can even do average in HS. They aren't running a charity.

I was a big fab 5 fan as well, but the I was screwed attitude between the Duke thing, and people making money off them is dumb. First, they never would have gotten into Michigan, let alone Duke, without basketball. Secondly, they got a free education. And lastly, they got the exposure needed to be drafted so highly in the NBA where they did make millions.

Just like everything in life you start from the bottom paying your dues.

Considering they were all top 50 recruits nationally, yeah, they are called the Fab Five.

Jimmy King and Ray Jackson didn't get near the press that they could have, if they were playing elsewhere. If you know basketball, there simply just aren't enough shots to go around. With Webber, Jalen, and Juwan being beasts, it's hard for 2 others to excel at the same time.

Jimmy King played in the NBA, and Ray Jackson was a ROY in Europe or something. I don't know about you, but to me that is darn good.

Jimmy King made the NBA and was the 1998 CBA rookie of the year. Jackson was the CBA rookie of the year in 94-95. They were both top 50 recruits out of high school.

Jimmy King was a beast.
