I always felt like he was a completely different "bust" then guys like McDonald, Van Poppel, Taylor, etc. I felt like he actually knew how to pitch IN ADDITION to his phenomenal stuff.
But thanks to Baker, we'll never know how great he could've been.

Abbott won the Sullivan Award as the top amateur athlete in the country in 1987.
He also won the Golden Spikes award as college baseball's best player.
He starred for the 1988 Olympic team.
He went straight to the Majors without pitching in a minor league game.
The fact that he had one hand added to his legend.
If he was playing today, the hype would be enormous.
