Please have your Justin Uptons shipped to you and then sell to me for a reasonable price

The cost of shipping from Topps would be twice the actual cost of the card.

ugh. wow that sucks

Why should this surprise anyone?

It was a total cluster back with the initial mania over the Jamal Lewis rookie back in 2000 when it started...shouldn't they end on the same note?

For those stuck in it, best of luck, but next time you see a cryptic, non-specific update like they said in December...dump or get dumped on.

Dissapointing as Etopps was a good way to make a few bucks over the years and pick up some decent items from the catalog (Peyton Manning signed mini-helmet, box of bowman chrome, and a few autographs). That being said, it was very apparent that the program may be shut down considering the number of cards in each of the baseball sets has dwindled since 2006

# of cards in the standard eTopps baseball issue
2006- 130
2007- 73
2008- 69
2009- 69
2010- 48
2011- 45

# of cards in the standard eTopps football issue
2001- 147
2002- 106
2003- 102
2004- 90
2005- 82
2006- 61
2007- 47
2008- 54
2009- 55
2010- 48
2011- 37

It was just a matter of time before they reached 0. I'm just happy I currently have an empty portfolio with just 1 point in it.

I just checked, and I have over 1600 cards and over 1100 rewards points.

I knew none of this was happening or about to happen. I just checked to see about having everything shipped to me, but many, many of "MY" cards are "not available". What??? If they're mine, and I've paid for them, and it's been over a year in some cases, why are they "not available"?

Just checked my tiny account and I could order my 2010 Strasburg to be sent but not my 2011 Lawrie. I'll wait until I can do both. I'll also leave a few unsellable football cards sitting there.

Hmm?

Anyone else thinking that by increasing shipping costs and no longer allowing rewards points for shipping that eTopps is hoping that people will just abandon their accounts with cards in them?

I never knew the S&H was that high, that is a outright ripoff. I do like buying etopps cards that are "in-hand" and wonder how any seller is able to make money with those sky high shipping rates. Oh well I have 1 reward point left to use tonight and will dump whatever card I get with it.

Wow, this almost seems borderline criminal. Not trying to overreact but not only have they made the cards worthless but they want you to not request shipping of them? So either they stopped producing alot of them or they will be using them in future products.

12.75 for shipping!? What a damn joke.

Now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. I wanted to have my Hosmer shipped to me, but not only is it "currently unavailable", it will cost me about double of what I paid for it just to ship it! I planned on holding out for an autograph offering, but it appears this is unlikely at this point.

Subject: Shipping Rate Change
Date: 12/20/11
Dear Valued eTopps users,

Due to rising costs of doing business and increased costs to our shipping partners, eTopps will be raising its shipping rates beginning early next year. This is the first price change for eTopps in several years. Also at this time, eTopps points will no longer be accepted for shipping.

If you would like to take advantage of today’s current shipping rates, please be sure to visit your card portfolio in eTopps.

Thank you for your continued business!

The Topps Company

UPDATE (January 9, 2012 4:56PM EST):
The shipping and handling rate increases announced on December 20, 2011 are now in effect. Additionally, at this time, eTopps rewards points will no longer be redeemable for shipping and handling charges.

They aren't even worth anything on the trading post anymore. I've been offering well above the value of cards and can't get bites.
