I haven't been on Becketts message boards in about 10 years or more. I thought they shut those down years ago.

Glad I don't participate in the grading portion of the business. It's ridiculous to me to think that one company (industry leader) can buy it's two largest competitors and this is not alarming regulators. I hope for those of you who live and die by grading, that this somehow works out well.

Beckett should have asked for his name to be pulled after a certain time frame. He has not owned it in a decade!

Dont patron any graders, but will say it makes total sense for PSA to buy any competition to their "upcharge" fee for values they assign to cards when graded. SGC and Beckett did not charge these fees. Flippers and collectors alike have been opining on these as of late, including prominent web dealer Ty Wilson who was advocating Beckett in 2025 as he sought margin and advantage. Now, there can be less resistance to PSAs extortion money, juice, realtor fee, or whatever you want to call it as PSA can eliminate the option, OR make the extortion ubiquitous across every brand they own. Either way, won't affect me much but it isn't a good look overall, and corporate consolidation is the way if the world now.

I'm not sure how much control the regulators have over private equity.
