Cool concept with the retro style designs, but i'm frankly shocked at how high some of these are selling.

Regular Kareem auto patches sell for around $100, but these going for four times as much?

Peyton Manning exquisites can be found for less than $100, but BIN selling at $500?

Sidney Crosby for $2000?????

Adrian Peterson for $1600????? - you can get a REAL exquisite TRUE rookie auto patch for that price.

What gives? and do you like 'em, and more importantly, do you like 'em at THOSE prices?

Will these soften up? Must be set collectors driving this craziness.

I'd like to pick a few up, but i'm not THAT CRAZY!!!!!!!

let's just say if i had unlimited funds available, i'd love to go for that complete set

i like how ud has been going for that retro sets for current products like the 1997 ud legends from ultimate collection football and the epic signature from ultimate collection basketball

although 03-04 exquisite is hardly a "Retro" product, including players like mj, crosby, gretzky was a great idea in my opinion

would the prices hold? aside from mj, not too sure but due to its low print run, i do not expect the prices to go down severely from its initial sales

overall, i give it a A- (they should've used the player's rookie year photos)

Great analysis, Dave.

I would LOVE to go for this set as well, but prices keep on shooting up for the tougher/more popular guys.

I think it looks like there are at least 5-10 hardcore collectors trying to drive these prices higher, but once they get their cards, some of the players may get more affordable.

I think the ones that will stay pricey are jordan, gretzky, Russell, AP, and Crosby.

but the others will still stay in the $250-$600 range. I can't see any of them falling to less than $200.

To add, the checklist is very impressive with big name players but I really wish tiger would have been included as even an sp to 5 or something, making it one of THE chase cards outside of the logomen patches.
Also, although we'll see plenty from exq baseball coming out, wish they had included jeter and pujols. I don't think including them would have hurt their future baseball product.

From the looks of it, is larry bird the weakest link sales wise?

DEfinitely Larry Bird has been selling the cheapest, i'm not sure why. Everyone else has been selling for $400 ++. Perhaps all the set collectors already have the bird man, so it has softened, but I think would be a great pick up for half the price of an exquisite pack.

The other cards simply look fantastic. I hope the redemptions get filled, there are four of them, and the AP and ROY would be awesome to see live.
