So I'm searching eBay and see this card...

Yaz
3893_1.jpg

Now this was very interesting, because I know the guy who pulled the Yaz RC buyback, it was pulled from the shop I go to all the time and he almost never sells anything. I tried very hard to get him to sell the Yaz after he pulled it, as the cards, especially the 1/1's, were selling great, and the Red Sox were hot, as it was late 2004. Then I click on the auction and see who the seller is, peopleschoice7373. Now it's possible he sold it without my knowing, but he still had it last time I talked to him earlier this year, but it would be crazy if it just happened to land in the hands of this seller. He also uses the shop here to sell any stuff, and I advised him to use them or me to sell it, if he ever decided to let it go, because we have quality reputations. and are Power Sellers. So, if I'm wrong, I'm sorry, but....c'mon.

Is this guy TRYING to match the output of that guy busted in the early 90's? I seriously seriously hope this fraud catches up to him one day. I've NEVER wanted to see someone fall from their pedestal except for this guy.

+1
The amount of cards that scumbag Kevin has altered/ruined over the years really makes me sick. I wonder what its going to take for something to happen about this.

I used to own the Topps Originals Jim Palmer RC 1/1 I'm so glad I sold that card for $700 before the fakers made it worthless.

Well if enough people report it as a fake it should get pulled. I already have. His best one was the fake Bowman Originals Alex Gordon gold refractor RC 1/1 I must say.

I love the Topps Originals autos but you would have to be half nuts to buy any of the very high end expensive ones as there are just tons of fakes now.

This is a card I pulled a few years ago:

Obviously not even close.

Kevin Burge has been the topic of sooooo many threads, especially back on the BMB's. This pond scum continues to alter, trim, and now apparently fake auto's as 1/1's. How he continues to get away with this stuff is incredible. He used to actually have an ID on the old BMB's and would come on to attempt to defend himself, much to the delight of everyone bashing him mercifully. --Always threatening to press charges for slander from those who attacked his "practices"

It's too bad that no one has figured out a way to put this lowlife behind bars where he belongs.

Stupid question-

Couldn't you send Topps and email with the ID code on the sticker on the back of the card?
They should have a data base.
If not, then those ID numbers are useless.

Key word SHOULD.

Those serial numbers ARE useless. Topps, and every other manufacturer, could do a lot to keep fake patches and autos from happening, but that would cost money. All they care about is selling the boxes/cases containing the cards. They really don't care what happens after then.

Same seller magically had 2 others recently sell, incl. a Fisk RC for over $100.

I've watched a whole bunch of other ones come up from another highly suspect seller who often has shady 1/1s - remember those 'chrome proofs' made by dipping chrome cards in water? Anyway, he seems to have moved onto another cash cow:

That's the same seller. It's always Mooresville, NC. It's always Kevin Burge.
