Is this the same manufacturer as ITG hockey? Take note, if you're buying these they are all listed as /9 when really most are part of 9 cards, like card 1 of 9 sequentially numbered to 4000. Misleading listings and terrible cards, in my opinion.

I'm not sure what you're saying about the serial numbering, but there is a 4000 TOTAL print run for ALL CARDS in the product. So in this case, there are only 9 of those Rodriguez's, so the /9 serial numbering is accurate. The /4000 numbering is for the ENTIRE product. There were only 4000 cards made.

As for the cards, yeah, not really a fan...

^^^^^ Sly is correct when he explains the numbering.

For people hating on the product, Dr. Brian Price (The Creator of the product) posted this on another message board and i will rely the message onto you guys.

"I know I don't need to say this but if you know me, you know I must.

This post really wasn't required, although the poster is entitled to his or her opinion, why just take shots at a new and innovative concept? I understand you don't like it, so don't buy it.

This product is for collectors who want limited editions (only 9 silver and 1 gold) of real memorabilia from athletes from a cross section of sports.

Buy it for what it is or don't buy it because of what it is.

But don't sit out there and slam something new.

Why did you feel that you just "had" to tell someone about this product.

We showed collectors what the cards looked like before we sold them, there were no surprises.

In fact, I experiment with the Famous Fabrics concept in Superlative Hockey Volume I, Bleu Blanc et Rouge and Superlative Franchise. Many of the those Famous Fabrics cards are valuable pieces in collections and sold at high prices.

Everyone is entitled to like or not like a product but why do some feel that they "have" to tell others about their dislikes.

I know that the collectors who are collecting these cards and like them, don't "have" to tell people they like them. They just do and they collect them.

Hey, try doing something innovative yourself one day and see how you feel when people "have" to tell everyone how much they don't like it."

this issue has a bunch of Canseco in it and I have no desire to own any copy I've seen to this point... least they could have done was use pictures like Rob Broder did years ago and airbrush off the MLB logo's so these actually resemble cards. seeing a lefthanded batter silouhette on a Canseco card to me is just stupid... If I stumble across these in trade maybe I'll take them but Im not paying for one ever!

Good for Brian Price and a decent product if you like buying singles.

I think the basketball jersey cards look great.

I'd love to see this idea in some baseball products. Most of these cards aren't too desirable though.

The first Bobby Orr patch cards/memorabilia cards in years and years. Bobby Orr gamers go for BIG Bucks!!

Also, since the cards come already slabbed, you dont have to worry about patch faking. Also, since this product is coming from Brian Price, i strongly believe that ALL the memorabilia we are getting from them is REAL.

Only thing I can think on this is that they don't have the Players Association license in the sports. I know it wouldn't matter for Canseco, but there are a lot of current players in the product. I'm thinking they probably went with the "all or none" thought with photos.

I could be completely off-base on that thought though.

@Sam Banks: What's "retarded" about it?? Frankly, I think that boxing card is one of the better ones I've seen in the product.

Hahahaha what is new and innovative about a card with no pictures? Its like saying I have an innovative Porsche, its just dont have windows an engine or a car body. These companies need to hire a marketing team if they feel these are innovative or creative for crying out loud its barely a concept.

i think the innovation is crossing all the multisports into ONE game-used product.

Has it been done before? No.

Therefore, it's "new" and "innovative".

As for your Porsche example...no, a better example would be a Porsche without the Porsche logo on it. These cards work without pictures...a Porsche does not work without an engine or car body.

Oh bryan, you are a business man? Really?

You are surprised that people feel the need to be critical about your product? Isn't that the right of the consumer to do so? Whether it be positive or negative.

The hobby is critical of topps, upper deck, and panini. Don't you think we are going to be critical of your crappy product?

From looking at the past sales (from this company in general including the hockey with pictures) it appears the engine and windows are missing.
