Heres a few more of the 1/1 logos with REAL memorabilia coming out of the product...

As opposed to what? Their sports kings releases with mattingly?

No the sorry excuse for Letters/Patches coming in Topps products.

As for your Porsche example...no, a better example would be a Porsche without the Porsche logo on it. These cards work without pictures...a Porsche does not work without an engine or car body.

From looking at the past sales (from this company in general including the hockey with pictures) it appears the engine and windows are missing.

Please post these sales. For a company with NO major league license since 2004, id say they have been doing a pretty darn good job and ITG/Famous Fabrics has a HUGE cult like following that i have not seen from ANY card company EVER.

I had not heard of this Mattingly issue with sports kings until a few days ago (I posted a thread about it). I am looking for a scan of the card you guys are refering to and i will ask Brian Price PERSONALLY about it.

I wish I knew more all I remember (from what I read from some angry dude at the beckett board at release) in their first release they had a mattingly patch from jackie robinson day 50th anniversary. Mattingly was an advisor for a few games during spring or something and they didnt wear the patch during spring, they claimed (I have no idea, but he seemed sure about it). If I remember correctly this collector had constant contact with them until they brought up this card, then the emails where ignored and unanswered and the sk's rep never posted on the bmb after the topic was brought up.

Well thanks for the extra information about this card. Like i mentioned above, if someone has a scan of this card i will ask Dr. Price himself about it and report my findings back here.

I would be ashamed as a card company to produce this crap. I don't care who owns this company or if he reads this.. maybe a good idea will actually smack him upside his head and next year if there is one this product will actually resemble a baseball card I'd WANT to purchase.

A few of those jumbo patches look nice. Also saw a Bettis letterman 1/1 in the football breaks that looked great.
So basically anything with a huge patch....in those instances it makes up for the lack of picture/logo on the card.

The designs with the small swatches......not looking so great.

I lost out on a few Hendersons already. The boxes seem to be selling pretty good, there are a lot on Ebay. At least nobody can complain that the patches were switched.

This post really wasn't required, although the poster is entitled to his or her opinion, why just take shots at a new and innovative concept? I understand you don't like it, so don't buy it.

Brian Price[/i]

Hahahaha what is new and innovative about a card with no pictures? Its like saying I have an innovative Porsche, its just dont have windows an engine or a car body. These companies need to hire a marketing team if they feel these are innovative or creative for crying out loud its barely a concept.

Has it been done before? No.

Therefore, it's "new" and "innovative".

As for your Porsche example...no, a better example would be a Porsche without the Porsche logo on it. These cards work without pictures...a Porsche does not work without an engine or car body.

Didn't Upper Deck do it a few years ago with Basketball/Baseball/Hockey/Football ...somethin called UD Champions, I think? And don't forget Classic 4 sport from almost 20 years ago...

Eye appeal is a big deal with card collecting. In my opinion, the Eddie Murray's I am seeing don't have much of that.

Have been watching these on Ebay. While I am not a fan of the plain jersey cards, I do think the emblems and Letters are not that bad looking. Could be a cheap way for some player collectors to get nicer patches and letters that they might not usually be able to afford. Say a Griffey Jr Reds patch for mid $40's. If it was from Ultimate it would be a $175-$200 card.

I'd actually rather buy a fake patch card than these.. at least it would be a card with visual appeal. these cards look like the UD or Topps Dummy cards cut out and swatched with clumps of plain jersey. There have been a few decent ones posted but most Ive seen are plain swatch.. white/grey card which doesn't look good at all.

For people hating on the product, Dr. Brian Price (The Creator of the product) posted this on another message board and i will rely the message onto you guys.

"I know I don't need to say this but if you know me, you know I must.

This post really wasn't required, although the poster is entitled to his or her opinion, why just take shots at a new and innovative concept? I understand you don't like it, so don't buy it.

This product is for collectors who want limited editions (only 9 silver and 1 gold) of real memorabilia from athletes from a cross section of sports.

Buy it for what it is or don't buy it because of what it is.

But don't sit out there and slam something new.

Why did you feel that you just "had" to tell someone about this product.

We showed collectors what the cards looked like before we sold them, there were no surprises.

In fact, I experiment with the Famous Fabrics concept in Superlative Hockey Volume I, Bleu Blanc et Rouge and Superlative Franchise. Many of the those Famous Fabrics cards are valuable pieces in collections and sold at high prices.

Everyone is entitled to like or not like a product but why do some feel that they "have" to tell others about their dislikes.

I know that the collectors who are collecting these cards and like them, don't "have" to tell people they like them. They just do and they collect them.

Hey, try doing something innovative yourself one day and see how you feel when people "have" to tell everyone how much they don't like it."

Brian Price

I don't despise the product, but Dr. Brian needs to learn the definition of innovative.

Those are pieces of art, not "fake patch cards". Get it right.
