I dont think it's a stretch at all. The guy seems infinitely vulnerable and this situation would be hard for anyone cope with. I have grown to dislike Hamilton after listening to a few years of his inane comments and he just seems like an idiot in general to me. But I feel horrible for him in this circumstance and I too fear that his sobriety is in jeopardy. With an addict any traumatic event/episode can be a catalyst; feeling responsible for someone's death would push anyone over the limit. What a horrible story.

was just talking to a friend about this and he made a very good point - security could be liable as well. didn't look like a fall that could necessarily kill the man. it's very possible that they moved him in a manner that they shouldn't have when they got down there.

The cause of cardiac arrest was most likely trauma from the fall. I would be shocked if they determined that the first responders were accountable at all.

horrific... my thoughts are with the family of the man, the people who watched it, and josh hamilton!

while i dont think the media is making a bigger deal out of this than it is... i question the choice of words used on several radios shows. this is a tragic enough story without them blowing air into it.

Absolutely horrible. I'm not going to play lawyer and say who was at fault. Horrible situation, and the deceased fan seemed to be a good person as well -- a 39 year old firefighter.

Sad for all parties.

If you have the railing higher, it obstructs the view. Shea Stadium used to have the railings really small, which was scary.

I understand the obstruction of the view, but I've sat in the lower levels of the bleachers before at various ballparks, and that's just one of the prices you pay for safety. Unfortunately for this man, it cost him his life.

I think an autopsy needs to be done for this one. I mean clearly the fall in some way caused this man to die but, was it the impact with the ground, or was it shock from the fall. I could see it going either way, maybe it scared him to a point of some cardiac failure.

Just a horrible accident. My heart breaks for the little boy. As far as blame? Building code says the railing has to be at least 26". The railing ranges from 30"- 40". They could add a foot to it and people would still lean over and climb over it for balls.

All ball parks need to add a net around the railing to keep stuff like this from happening. I know people should not reach over the railing but lets face it people do not think about that. This guy was only thinking about getting the ball for his kid and if a net had been around the railing he would of just been embarrassed instead of dead.

The best outcome from this would be for the Rangers to hold a charity night at the ballpark where all or a portion of every ticket sold goes to this man's family. Have a TV memorabilia auction/donation drive the night of the ballgame. It won't bring back the young man's dad, but it would help ensure that the family is not financially destitute.

I was expecting to hear it was a TBI.

From the video that would be the easiest conclusion to arrive at. Are cardiac arrests common in instances of TBI?

They say he was alive and alert after the fall.
He even told security to get his kid as he was alone.

They did nothing wrong, they didn't know.
Bad choice of words, yes, but who would have thought the guy died?

I realize that. But i dont know, the laughing kind of disturbed me. That is solely my opinion however
