Just happened during the rangers game while they were reaching for a foul ball. Have any of you ever heard of anything like this before?

Seems like it happen back in the late 90's and was a kid but I can not remember if they lived or what team. I was stationed in Korea at the time so maybe it was a foreign league.

A few years ago a drunk fan fell from the OLD Yankee Stadium upper deck and landed on the net behind homeplate. He tried to crawl back to the seats behind the net but was quickly arrested!

Right after the Ballpark in Arlington was built, someone fell from the home run porch while posing for a picture.

Not yet. They got him out on a stretcher. You'd think if it was critical, they would careflight.

Yeah I remember that. I also remember one fan falling on another.

Had a guy three seats over from me at a Reds-Royals game lean over the fence at Riverfront and fall over the rail. Not quite the upper deck but a pretty good fall. He landed on his back and ended up in the hospital.

Eddie Taubensee who hit the home run brought him a bat or something.

I see this all the time when someone is reaching for a ball, even in the upper deck and say to myself
Self :D I'm surprised he did not fall, there have been some close calls though. Hope he is ok but I would say

Not exactly the same situation, but I witnessed a tragic event at the Pirates home opener 3 years ago (NO, it had nothing to do with the piss poor team on the field, LOL)

The home opener is just about the only guaranteed sell out for the Pirates, as TONS of fans tailgate early before the game and some get pretty hammered by the time they make it in. Anyways, around the 5th inning, I go to the bathroom. It was one of the smaller bathrooms in the upper deck, and as soon as I got into the bathroom, I was immediately in line. So I'm about 5th in line, just minding my own business, when all of a sudden, I feel and hear a thud near my feet. I look down, and this guy is laying on his back, staring up at me, although he's not moving or blinking. One of the guys near me was a marine, so he started to check his vitals while I ran out and told a concession stand to call for paramedics to the men's bathroom. When I go back in, there is blood coming from one of his ears (not good) and the paramedics showed up a minute later. They put the oxygen mask on him and a few seconds later, he puked all inside the mask. That is when I left.

The next few days I checked all the local media outlets trying to find a story about him, if he was ok. Fast forward about 2 months...a friend from work was getting married later that year. The one Sunday after church, him and his fiance met up with the priest to talk about the wedding. The priest told my friend that another couple was supposed to get married a week before them, but that the guy passed out at the Pirate home opener and died after being in the hospital for a few weeks. Apparently, the guy had been blacking out from time to time the past few months leading up the game. I'm not sure if he was drinking or not, but if he was, I'm sure that didn't help the situation.

Sorry for the long read.

I can only remember a couple times. I'm amazed it doesn't happen all the time. Up in the top decks, stairs are steeper and narrower, and it's not like there's a giant fence at the edge. I can remember the vertiginous feeling I'd get as a kid in the upper deck at the Vet. Looking down at action close to me felt like I was going to topple right over.

Maybe it's just the number of chances. How many times a year does someone fall onto the field from the front row chasing a foul ball?

When are people going to realize it's just a baseball.

I sat the same exact thing when I see 2 adults diving on the ground, jumping over seats.......for a $12 foul ball. I can MAYBE see going after a home run, but even then it's a little lame, unless it's a historic HR.
