When are people going to realize it's just a baseball.

I sat the same exact thing when I see 2 adults diving on the ground, jumping over seats.......for a $12 foul ball. I can MAYBE see going after a home run, but even then it's a little lame, unless it's a historic HR.

last miggy homerun to sell on mlb auctions (normal homer nothing historic) sold for 500 i think

Yeah, that's on MLB's auction site. Try selling the same ball on ebay and see how the seller would get.

Ha! That idiot was actually my friend's brother-in-law. Good times. He was plastered though.

Holy crap! My brother and I were in town for the game. We were sitting on the third base side. There was a lazy foul ball to the second deck on the first base side, the ball fell in the first or second row of the upper deck. The guy fumbled for the ball and fell over the railing. He tried to hang on but he slipped, bounced off the railing directly below (box seats?) and then to the seats below. Not sure if he hit anyone below. But it was a horrible scene. I've never seen it before. I hope that the guy is ok. Reports said that he was alert and responsive.

This isn't baseball related but I was at Monster Jam the day the kid got killed at a different Monster Jam show in Washington, and we at on the upper deck of the Metrodome (on about the 50 yard line if the field was out) and it was soo cramped and steep I was so scared of falling off or bumping someone off, so I sat in my seat (I enjoyed the show, but I didnt want to get up) for I would say a good 4-5 hours

It's actually a construction flaw at the ballpark. At my minor league ballpark, the railing is only about 3 feet tall, goes up to my hips so I could see where one might be able to fall over the railing. I was telling my dad while walking around the open house that I wonder who will be the idiot who goes after a ball or a sponsor's t-shirt shot from an air cannon that will get over-vigorous and lean and fall over the railing going for the item.

Ballparks should increase the railing height to at least 4 feet, maybe 4.5 feet just to make it harder to lean/fall over it. I doubt I'd be able to make it over a railing if it went up to my chest since most of my body would be lower than the railing.

Texas incident, I'm not surprised. Low railing height + had to be plastered fan = disaster waiting to happen.

I remember that; I was at the game. He was bet $50 to make that jump, he claimed.
