FanFest Report: added 4 IP AU RCs to my collection

Hey everyone,
I went to the All Star FanFest yesterday and had a blast checking everything out. I am a little bummed that I didn't get more autographs (and that Marichal was only signing a State Farm photo), but I am glad for what I got! I am especially happy to add that Jenkins auto RC to my PC, seeing as how most of my higher-end in person autographed RCs were stolen recently. Further, MLB was there at all the signings authenticating each signature--so each of these has an MLB authentication sticker on the back!

Thanks! The Fregosi line was strange in that it was the only one where they took your bag/backpack from you before you went up the steps to meet him and get your signature. My friend and I thought it was the norm for this event, but they didn't take the bags at any of the other signings that day. Has he had his life threatened before or something?

As for affording to go: I was able to get 2 of the Strasburg Promo cards from the Topps booth, which I just sold for $71. That covers my ticket ($30) the A&G packs I had to buy to get the promos ($30) and most of my lunch ($14). So I basically got to go and get these 4 signatures (5 if you count that Marichal on the State Farm photo) for 3 bucks!

I didn't know who he was either. My friend got me his RC so I was sure to get it signed. He threw the first no hitter in Angels stadium.

The lines were about 1 hour to 1 and a half hours. Long lines, but the organizers took your name down as you got in line to make sure people didn't cut or join their friends later. In order to get on stage, you had to give your name again and they checked the list they made as the line was being formed.

Really LOVE the Fregosi.....The Lynn is pretty Sweet too, one of my Favorite Sets...
