Okay, so I made this move for my team that I liked.
I dealt:
Jose Reyes
Curtis Granderson
Gerald Laird
for:
Jay Bruce
Russ Martin
the #1 Pick in our Draft coming up
...I decided to move Reyes for a few reasons, but, moving Granderson and Reyes frees up salary space on my team (about $50+), and i will be able to draft and sign a few extra players--Laird was just part of the deal since I still have Ramon Hernandez at C
So my dilema is whether to draft a pitcher--and which one to take, or take Carlos Pena with that 1st Pick.
The two pitchers im looking at are Hamels and Halladay. I cant decide which of them I want for my team.
I know what Halladay brings to the table year after year, and I know what upside Hamels has, but his injury potential scares me.
My staff right now is awesome:
Peavy
Bonderman
Sheets
Jared Weaver
Greinke
...but I still think adding another arm to it would be great, plus, i could always trade someone later on down the road if someone on my team was to get injured
I already made a move and got Kotchman at 1b, so I now have him and Kevin Millar (who i'll cut regardless of whether I take Pena or not). I like Pena and think he can put up another 30hr season with around 100+ knocked in.
I know moving Reyes was tough, but, I felt I could do the move and still be successful because I freed up cap space, and got a solid OF prospect in Bruce...I will more than likely draft a prospect SS (like A. Escobar) with my 2nd or 3rd round pick
So what do you guys think I should do?
