Expand on the subject:

Do you have a card in your PC that is of a player or team that you do not collect but you won't get rid of?

Show the cards and tell the story! Doesn't have to be some crazy expensive card, just something you really like.

Here's mine:

I was once going to attempt a Sterling collection, just a basic set with each player. Then I realized that each player has so many cards, being obnoxiously expensive, hard to come by, ect......

I disbanded this collection, holding on too the Mike Schmidts and Roy Campenellas that I had collected, but I absolutely love this Morneau card.

Not a Twins or Morneau fan at all, but the look and patches and design of this card, add to that 33 is my "lucky" number, I'll only cough this up if I have too to get another card I really want.

What are your cards?

I HATE the yankees. Im not really a fan of Mantle either as he told my dad to "Go F yourself" back in the 60's when my dad asked mantle for a picture at yankee stadium, BUTTT i had to have a certifed auto of mantle for the collection. With all the fakes out there, being certified by UDA, the design of the card and the price (475) i could not pass it up. One of the best autographed cards UD ever made. I had to have it.

I have never been a Cowboys fan, but when I pulled this, I instantly dug it. (even if it is OC.)

I have a lot of respect for Staubach. Naval Academy, served his country, one team career, Super Bowl Champion, seems like an upright guy. (for a Cowboy) ;)

Instead of answering, "Favorite card you have of a player/team you're not a fan of," I'm going to answer, "Favorite card you have from a sports card manufacturer you're not a fan of?"

I don't collect Upper Deck baseball cards (hence, I'm not really a fan), but I do like their early work (1991 and 1993 eponymous set designs are the best they've ever done in my opinion), but one card stands out:

The image above isn't my card, but I do have this stored somewhere in my collection. I've always respected the way he played the game and the obstacles he overcame to do it. But because he never played in the NL, and played primarily before the era of Interleague games, there are not that many pictures of him batting. This was one card that I can honestly admit to saying "Wow!" to upon seeing it for the very first time.

Hey, I think I know what I'm going to write about this evening...
