I actually have each of ElRoy Face's Topps cards (1953-1969, he has no '55 card) signed and inscribed, here's a link to them ElRoy Face Topps Collection Photos by jimfalbo21 | Photobucket

Here's mine. FYI I never requested this. I was supposed to meet Rickey after the show, but the signing ran late and he had to catch his flight. Said he felt bad and gave me the ball as a nice gesture.

I have a lot of autographs, but very few inscriptions. I do like this one...

But my favorite one is probably the one from Martinez Jackson, Reggie's father. I got his auto in 1993 at Fanfest. There were several former ***** League players signing, and he was there. He wore Reggie's 77 WS Ring, with yarn wrapped around it to make it fit. And he signed every auto, "Martinez Jackson Reg's Dad"

What is the deal with Mantle?
He was a heavy drinker and often let people know what he thought of their autograph request via inscription. There are examples where he signed for a kid making references to the kid's mother's anatomy.

Mantle's family usually buys these up when they appear at auction. The **** sucker inscription sold for over 9k! Presumably, they destroy them.
