Past- Alan Trammell wore his number for years and then Larry Walker dude is just a monster a sure fire hof if not for injuries.

Present- Still working on it. I guess I prefer the past more lol. If I had to pick it would be Verlander and Jeff Larish.

You really start to pull for a guy after he makes you a boat of money, especially when he plays for your favorite team. Guy's got a bright future ahead of him and he is someone who I have collected since he first had cards and will be able to collect throughout his career.

Hell, i'll play:

Favorite Baseball player: Javier Vazquez - Even with his rough start in NY, he is still a VERY underrated pitcher.
Retired: Richard Hidalgo

Favorite Basketball player: (tie)Kevin Durant, Jason Kidd - As a Longhorns fan, after the first game I saw durant play, I knew I would be a fan of his WHERE EVER he went and I saw the potential for him to be one of the best players in the game. As for Kidd, I grew up a Mavericks fan. I still remember the Killer J's from the mid 90's- Jamal Mashburn, Jim Jackson and Jason Kidd. I was terribly heart broken when he was traded, but that trade did net the Mavericks Steve Nash, Michael Finley and a draft pick (which was used to draft Keith "Tractor" Traylor, who was then traded to Milwaukee for the rights to, wait for it...............Dirk Nowitzki). So, basically, the trading of Kidd AWAY from the Mavericks actually set the team up to be the success it has been the past 7-8 years.
Retired: Probably my favorite player of all time, any sport, Legendary Larry Bird. Hell, I was nicknamed Bird in HS and college because I play the game he same way he did (obviously not at the same level though).

Favorite Football player: LaDainian Tomlinson - He played football in Texas his entire life, until being drafted, so I got to know about him when he was in HS and saw him more in college. Then, when he and Drew Brees (another personal favorite from when he played college) were both drafted by the Chargers, I endured quite the run with my favorite players.
Retired: Steve McNair (RIP) & Warren Moon - The two greatest QB's in Oilers/Titans history.

Now: Robinson Cano. 1. He's just an all around great (not Pujols great I know), but he's great hitter, defense is one of the best 2B, and he doesn't act like an arse on or off the field. 2. I followed him through the minors too...at that point, I had never done that before.

Past/childhood: Roger Clemens. All 'roid/HGH talks aside, I always thought he was a hard worker...especially when he was young. Once, I read about his workout routine and it blew me away...very intense (and now I know about the 'roid/HGH "allegations....haha, and I'm still holding ot hope, even though it doesn't look good). He was absolutely dominating in the '80s. 20K's in a single game equals amazing. I still think his win/loss record would be much better if the BoSox could have backed him up and scored a few more runs at times. As much as I'm ashamed to admit it (sorry BoSox fans...no offense...you'll find out later why I say this...., I was a Boston fan during his tenure there. Then, there were the Blue Jay years. Just couldn't do it, couldn't be a Jays fan...strictly a Clemens fan. Then there came Yankee-time. Up until this time, I always respected the Yankee greats...never hated them or anything. Once he went to NY, I became enthralled with the Yanks, folloed every game, read books, got aggrivated when the lost, but never did I act like an idiot or a spoiled ass towards any other team. After the move, I've been a Yankee fan completely. This continued after he left and went to Houston....still followed him, but not the 'stros. WOW...sorry, went on a rant and off-topic stuff. My bad. I just started typing...

....this is the most I've ever posted!

You still have to work hard if you are on hgh/steroids. I hate when people assume that because someone is on hgh/steroids it means they dont work as hard as poeple who arent on them. Barry Bonds busted his ass, Roger Clemens busted his ass, Marl MacGwire busted his ass. There isnt a magic pill out there. You still have to work hard to see results. And by the way all these people who think it is so terrible for all these athletes to be taking these drugs, let me ask you something. Would you rather have roger Clemens or Barry Bonds, two guys who did everyting they could to be the best players that they could be or a guy like Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle who did everything that they could to play bad. Those guys were great in spite of themselves. I dont understand how what Babe Ruth did on the field was so noble bc "all he needed was beer and hot dogs.""
BTW if anyone thinks that Albert Pujols is "clean" you need to have your heads examined.

All time favorite: Darryl Strawberry. Not sure why, as when I first discovered baseball I was five years old in San Diego (dad was military) and came from an entire family of Yankees fans. I saw him at a game against the Padres at then Jack Murphy Stadium and either was impressed that he was so tall or that his last name was "Strawberry", and I liked to eat strawberries. Ha!

Current: Nobody specific... I like watching Robinson Cano hit... Phil Hughes pitch... Mariano, maybe. No one player jumps out. Other players I enjoy watching are the brothers Upton.
