I thought this would be a good thread to start for all members.

Recommend a good book on baseball.....a local beat writer's book on a World Series Team, Biographies on players, books on the dead ball era, books about the 70's, the 60's...50's?; anything really.....

A good book is a good book and I'd imagine all of us would read anything about baseball.

Some might think I'm joking but I found Canseco's book Juiced Up to be a great read. While there were a few instances of him spinning something to his advantage but to see his stance on steroids (that they're good for you), how he used them, charges of racism, etc. Plus, I don't even think it took 90 minutes to read it.

With all the controversy surrounding steriods this is actually an important baseball book.
